Mamma Mia!

Yay! I watched it yesterday after numerous sleepless nights looking forward to it. Initially, I would think that it shall not be my banker's cup of tea, I would be better off getting someone else to tag along, but I had noone to ask *sob* (so pathetic)

Anyway, I told him if he doesn't want to watch, it's ok, I just die-die get someone to accompany me (even if it meant my dad, who's here on his holiday! Absurd, isn't that so?), he said to me he's ok watching it with me. (I wonder if he is too loving, or too freaking scared I'll ask one of my ex-dahlings or what?)

So, last night, we went to the 9pm show (seldom being out so late on a Monday night) and when seated, he was wondering to me how long he would sleep throughout the show! Sometimes, I really do not know if I should love or hate this guy.

And the show was just great! There were lyrics throughout the whole entire show, and I could hear everyone singing along, it's like a huge karaoke session taking place! But it was really fun. How I wished I could just get up and dance too, as it was really jivey.

I'm even pondering to watch that again! Anyone wants a companion?

I'm a sick stickmom

I'm never gonna eat overnight's overnight's leftover food anymore. That was what I had on Monday for dinner and that night my tummy became haywired. The next morning, it was so bad that I had to apply for MC for the day and s.o.s my banker to come home to take me to a doctor, maybe even need to declare an emergency holiday.

The doctor gave me a jab to relax the stomach muscles and prescribed some medicine for me to take. I was diagnosed to have food poisoning, but that was also after what I told the doctor I think I had.

When the kids came home from school, my baby girl asked me if my tummy still hurts (kids remember amazingly well!) and my 2nd son quickly drew a sketch of me as a sickly stickmom.

I asked him to explain what the right hand X and without X meant. He told me "no medicine, your tummy hurts" (and that explains the (( )) sign). I thought that was rather amusing indeed, but I asked him why my throat had the (( )) as well, he said I had eaten something not meant to be eaten and my throat should have feel painful too.

And after taking the medicine, referring to the below portion of the drawing, I'm well again, yay!

Look at the different expression on the faces, that really made me burst out laughing. And he thought I was laughing at his beautiful art instead.

The next 2 days were much relieved, whereby I can resume to my normal activities of being a chauffeur and other than that, nothing much. Came Friday, for unknown reasons, I seem to be having both gastric pain and tummy ache pain again. It was so awful that I had to curl up like a worm when touched and I can't even stand up. I went to see the doctor again, and diagnosed as having gastric, again after I told her what I think it was. I think I should stop seeing her from now on too.

Strangely enough, from the day one I was told that I was food poisoned, I didn't have any diarrhea or vomitting, right until Friday when I managed to purge and even force myself to throw up by stirring my throat with my finger. And that was when I felt much relief.

So, whatever it was, I swore I am never ever going to eat leftover (x3) night's food anymore. I felt like I was having symptoms similar to morning sickness too, and even my banker's boss thought so too. But my banker is very confident that there will be no such thing.

One embarassing moment should be that time when I asked the doctor if I would have eaten some kind of worm eggs and the eggs start to hatch and worms growing inside me. I thought I heard a very sarcastic laughter beneath her reply of no. Ish! Ain't I a proper educated person to have even thought of thinking such theory? Anyway, I just couldn't help it.

You have all the quotients?

My banker shared with me this today. He read somewhere that to be successfully rich, other than IQ and EQ, there's also FQ and SQ. (no, it's not f**k Q and Sex Q, hoh)

We all know IQ is Intelligence Quotient, which is born natural needless to say, like me, high IQ!

Then we all know about EQ, which is Emotional Quotient, which is the ability to handle our emotions in different situations to make the right decisions (roughly, ok, don't start lecturing me if I'm wrong, I admit right here I am no expert in this)

Now, for all who does not know, FQ is Financial Quotient, which is our knowledge and ability to handle and manage our finances. If one does not have high FQ, even if he strikes the lottery, he won't be able to grow the money or manage the fund appropriately to stay rich. I think that's quite true, no?

As for SQ, that's for Social Quotient. It was said that a study in a small town in US says that generally those people who drinks and smokes, actually live longer than those who stayed alone, and who watched their diet strictly. That's because humans need to socialize, mingle with people, talk to people, have fun, be happy. And of course we do know good social skills is one important factor to bring in sales.

So, for these 4 Q's, we might not be able to do much on IQ (we are born with it, I said so just now lok), but we can definitely work out something on the other 3. For me, I definitely have low FQ, but SQ, I think I can score better in that (but that also depends if we are same wavelength or not). As for banker, he thinks he's better in FQ and not quite so in SQ. So, do we make a good partnershop, you betcha.

And that's one of the things he shared with me on one of those let's-talk moments. What do you think? Objections? Or more Quotients to add to the list? *sweats*

On a side note, recently we were invited to attend a financial learning program for children, aimed at 9yo and above. The course outlines basic financial terms and its meanings and applications and more activities to let them learn how money works in the real world. I think it's pretty good and we registered both parent and eldest son to try the preview out.

The dad came back and told me they had auctions, Q&A's, socializing and networking for those 2 hours, even letting the children "earn" some money. He said the instructor told the parents that there would be a "test" at the end of the whole course. Some parents ask what if the children fail the test and things like that. They were pretty shocked when it was told that the test is nothing like the schools' education tests or exams. It's an open book, and they are allowed to ask around, negotiate or bargain, even buy the answers if they can afford to.

Now some parents would think this isn't quite the proper thing to teach young minds, but come to think of it, isn't it what the real world is? If we are street smart enough, we pay for consultants to get things or answers we have no knowledge of. Will this be something beneficial for the children? I don't know, but I would surely like to give it a try and ensure they have better FQ than I do.

Sometime ago in 1999..

This post is strictly to induce some jealousy and hatred from you guys. Leave now if you still want to love me.. MUAHAHA...

There we were.. so young, so happy, so free, so poor, so wild, so everything..

Right after our official beginning of our togetherness as ONE, we headed to LA on the 17th May 1999 for honeymooning aka sex holiday. Once we disembarked, we drove 5 hours to LV, stayed for 2 nights, went to Grand Canyon for a day trip, came back to LA, drove to SF the next day and then flew to Seattle. Crazy schedule, wanted to cover as many cities as we could in the shortest time possible. So, I actually hardly see the cities that we went to.

Postcards sceneries, it might be possible I cut and paste our faces onto the postcards, for all you know.

From Seattle, it was few days straight of long hours drive, over the border to Canada, to the Rocky Mountains in Banff and Jasper. But the drive was worth it, as the sceneries were absolutely awesome.

Lake Louise.. sighhhhh.. how I miss that place, how I wish to go there again.

One day up onto the Iceland Glacier and back to Vancouver, and home again from some city in US, after 17 days of pure relaxation and happiness...

Now after 9 years, our biggest sau-wok is these 3 and tied us down for don't-know-how-many years to come...

Cantik tak those honey-flavored-loverbirds pictures? More pics on facebook.

The bunting

Remember that beautiful Monday where I received a surprise call from the kindy? Nay.. the bunting, asking for permission for my son to be model.. *giggles*

I got a call from my friend last week and she excitedly told me the buntings are up and his smiles were all over the area. I got so excited that I quickly ran over to see how it looked.

And here it is, one of it...

I sudah kembang, ok?

It feels so weird but pleasant to see this smile around the neighborhood. But it's not really all-things-good, you know? Cause today I was taking my mom to have a look for herself and in the afternoon, at exactly the same spot, just a mere 4 hours or so, it was GONE! VANISHED! DISAPPEARED!

Now, who in the right mind wouldn't think what happened to it, right? Someone tore it away because of stiff competition? Authorities banned it because it didn't go through the proper approval process? A "V" sign is not allowed and deemed insensitive and will cause racial tension? Somebody tore it and took it home as he's too lengchai? *sweats*

It's not easy to be a star's mom, wokay?

And I also get a stern warning from my son "DON'T YOU EVER STOP THE CAR TO LOOK WHEN YOU SEE ME THERE AGAIN, GEDDIT?!", cause that's what I did for the 2nd time, for my mom to have a clearer view. He thinks we are laughing at him because his face is up everywhere on the streets *grin*

Totally irrelevant picture, but just to show that's how we eat watermelon and honeydew now. So pretty balls, easy and just nice popping into our mouths to quench our thirst. Yum yum!

Sharing a story with you.

This is a story from the Star paper a long time ago.

A woman was in transit for a few hours at KLIA, hence she went to a book store and bought a bestseller and a pack of Ritz to kill time. She then went to look for a nice, more secluded seat to settle in temporarily. Finally finding the most ideal spot, she put her things down, relaxed herself, and took the book out to start on her reading.

The book was a good choice, she was soon deeply mesmerized with the plot and happily in her own world, oblivious to the surrounding. Out of a sudden, she realized there was this young chap seated a space next to her who was also reading a book and she wasn't aware when he came over. Well, not that he was any threat, but she made a point to herself to be more on alert.

Taking a deep breath and on ease again, she took the pack of Ritz on the chair next to her and opened it up, started munching and back continuing on the plot. Before she knew it, she realized that this chap was taking the cheese crackers to munch as well. Very soon, she noticed that as she took one, the other chap will take one right after and it went on.

Feeling uneasy and giving agitated glances to this chap, he was still annoying the hell out of her as he showed no signs of stopping, without any words of mannerism from him too. How rude, she thought.

Now then, the pack of crackers came to the last piece and both of them looked at it and looked at each other. She wondered what he will do and waited for his move. Shockingly and in disbelief, he took the last piece of cracker up, cracked it into 2 halves and he offered one halved to her! She gave a disgusted "hmmph!", took it from his hand, popped it into her mouth, threw her book into her hand luggage and hurriedly scurried off to her boarding gate.

She boarded her flight, found her seat, made herself comfortable yet again, but heart still thumping mad for the rudeness and arrogance of some people, she opened up her luggage and took her book out again to continue her reading. There it was, staring right back at her, was a pack of Ritz cheese crackers, untouched.

This story was just a summary, she had written with just the right jest of humour and I can't help laughing when I think about the look on her face and the thoughts that went in the young chap's mind while the above was taking place. It was so funny that I would still laugh silly when I think about it anytime anyplace.

Petition in the wet market

It had been a quiet week. I want to go shopping today! Shouldn't be any major happenings now that yesterday came and went?

I was at the wet market early morning and saw the banner of calling people to come and sign for the petition "Free Teresa Kok and abolish ISA". It said "today at 9am", and I forgot all about vegetables, meat and fish, parked my car and quickly look around for the place. Bukit Bintang MP from DAP was there, I forgotten his name and asked one of the women wearing DAP t-shirts who he is. AH.. no wonder he looked so familiar, his face was all over the place before the GE2008.

But his short speech wasn't as interesting as another speaker (unknown) who spoke in Cantonese. And I participated in clapping when others were, and left after awhile. The signatures were all on her banner. Many people without much prompting came forward to sign on it.

Across the road is another long banner which says "where is our Teresa Kok?" with her sassy face from her sassy blog. My heart sinks looking at it, somehow, and watching her mom's video on her condition was even heart wrenching, feeling for her as a woman and a mother. My hope as with all others right now, is to see for the day of her release and regaining her freedom.

Thoughts while driving

Yesterday, I drove to a less-travelled route to have lunch, just so to find that perfect fish ball that suits my palette.  In doing so, I p...
