Ho Lei Wud style

(Her way of continuing the award tag here must be the cutest, funniest, and most imaginative one so far. I laughed so much that I had to continue sabo her gala oxcar night in here, since she had named me as successor to the award as well, after being named by Claire and Raynebow, thanks so much!)

.. After having so much fun with the rotten eggs thrown at her (if you do not know what I'm talking about, go here and read about it, together with the comments), I had never seen so much flying eggs before, it looked like shooting stars, except the smell made the air so intolerably filthy, then again, the show must go on, I then made my way up the stairs to the stage, taking the award from her, amidst the deafening applause and the obscenity shouts of "MAKE WAY FOR HER, SHE DESERVES IT MORE THAN YOU!!!"...

(Ah.. those machais.. made me so happy indeed, it wasn't a waste of money to have them there to make me blushed, ok ok, I pay you well, don't worry, as well as Claire and Raynebow, and by the way, both your swiss account tersalah nombor laa.. gimme Mehbank account enough loh, don't kacaukacau...the only one I do not have to pay is the moongbeibei Goolypop.. haha... eh, you still stand here for what?)

Ahh... who should I thank first for this moment? Of course, I have to thank my children, korkor, didi and meimei, because, without them, I wouldn't have a title of "MOM" to my name, would I?

Then of course, my beloved hubby who not only bring bread and butter home for us while I goyang kaki at home, but also to donate the other 23 chromosomes to make up the above, without him, this wouldn't have been been a reality and only remained a dream.

My mom, who without her, there wouldn't be me too, and who had raised me up by being an exemplary BEST MOM making me one too. *ahem*

Next, my dad, because surely you know by now? Without his 23 other good quality chromosomes, I wouldn't have been what I am today.

... and I continued with the list of my dead ancestors..

HOIII! Wake up lor!

And now I'm passing this award as there are many best moms in this world and it's only appropriate to give them some due recognition and encouragement.

MY, who comes home from work and can still be the 24-hao ahma.

Irene, who breastfed her 4 children, taking pictures of it and showing them unselfishly to encourage every mom to do so too. Tabik!

Fishman, who has no heart to cage up his baby and let him roam about his home wherever he wants.

My sils who sacrificed a lot for their own respective family.

Dawn, who takes her boys out for walks even in the coldest of weather.

Yozoranitesky, who ... err... who ... err... saving a fat bank account first for her children.

Pek Imm, who is leaving a legacy for her children in short and sweet little stories.

Chris, who is homeschooling her boys and taking them on to missionary trips around Thailand.

SAHM, who's about the only soccer mom in Singapore, I heard.

Jo-N, who creates her own games for her children to play while learning.

Jacss, who spend so much time and effort to make bentos for her boys.

And of course, not forgetting, Claire, who is such tough lady for her children, and Raynebow, who let her son bring home girls for the night, have his own charming world in his room, and Goolypop, who bribes me to give her back the award, brings up Gooly in unorthodox ways only a special mom will.

Now you may bring on the bouquet of flowers *muaks muaks* I LUP YOU ALL!!!

Please... let the show go on, I go to the penthouse bikini party first, see you all there.

Weird tag

It's interesting how the tags had evolved. Nevertheless, it's fun to know what weirdos there are out there.

Since my quirky friend, Goolypop, brought out her skeletons in the closet, well, I guess I shouldn't be letting her down too (though, honestly, I kept thinking and thinking about my own weirdness, I can't find any, unbelieveable but true)

So, after some deep thoughts, here it goes...

1. When I was a child, I like to play with "bei-tai", nay.. the juices that flow from your nose... HOI! I do not play anymore now hoh.

2. I do not know why but however much I liked to ogle at handsome tall men, those men whom ended up having "king kwang" with me are small sized.

3. I have a love-hate relationship with my "sai", especially those whom people regard as Hiroshima bombs. It stinks like mad, but I enjoy smelling the stink (want to try?). I only enjoy smelling my own stinking sai la though, others not included, I might be weird, but I'm not psycho, wokay?

4. I love to watch sexy women either on the streets, on the papers, in internet.. na na na.. I know all of you are nodding and agreeing with me that you love it too leh..

5. I have super extraordinary talent.. which is another story for another day.

6. I have 2 weird brothers. (lucky one of them is not reading my blog)

7. I keep all the weirdest friends, who are all weirder than me... haha...

*whew* What a hard day's work!

Thanks for the lovely tag

Wow! I am more kembang than ever. Another compliment, and this time it comes from a quality blogger.

Thanks Pek Imm for your kind words. I quote it in here to show it off so I can find it easily when I want to read it again.

Quote.
You are simply hilarious and your blog, a joy to read. Always
Unquote.

I would like to pass it on and apart from my friends' blogs (of whom I digest and dig whether they talk rubbish or serious stuffs), I think these few are some I do admire on how well they can write..

1. Pek Imm - her blog seldom sway from her main focus in blogging, that is to note down the little milestones or funny moments of her children, for them to be cherished when they grow up. And the way she turn a very mundane story into an interesting one is much to be desired.

2. Goolypop - Need I introduce? Her blog's been plugged by 5xmom and I never missed one story ever since. Damn! I admire everything about her. Sarcasm, wit, humor, she has it all, bundled with her proficiency in English, she has the potential to be a best-selling author.

3. Bkworm - It's a great pity she stopped writing, but her stories never fail to inspire and touch my heart.

Can't blog now, hungry already..

Tag: A tribute to my parents

I got this tag from Jo-N sometime ago..
.. write a tribute to my dad in conjunction with Father's Day to be posted on this page and similarly, a tribute to my mom as well for this page.

It took me some time as I thought in length about what I will write for my dad and mom. And I can't find the words to it. It'll also be a pity as they never do know much English, never surf the internet, never uses the computer and I thought it will be weird for me if I declare how much I love them over here while they are in the absolute darkness about it. This just goes for me la, ok, not to piss some of you who think otherwise.

Even then, if I profess how much I love them in their face, it wouldn't be as much meaning as to really finding the time to spend with them.

In fact, I hereby admit I have very much failed in my role as a daughter, much more so as a daughter-in-law. That's because my dad, in his 60's and not spending his rest of his later half of his life as he should be, happily, without stress, with his darling (my mom la, of course), and his children and grandchildren. I am so sorry, I really cry everytime when he tells me he feels bored when he's back home and the home is empty, and how much we knew a home is not a home without our loved ones, don't we? *sob* *sob* (excuse me while I take a tissue and blow my nose first... pfftttt....) *

.... and with and my *ahem* beloved parents-in-law... I am so sorry that I am not the daughter-in-law that you wanted, the kind of wife you want for your son.

Hey, this is easier than I thought. Writing confessions much easier than writing tributes. And I feel so much better after dumping it all out. Sorry for the diversion of traffic.

Anyway, thanks for reading. Please leave me comments that I am a good daughter and considerably nice daughter-in-law too, though not perfect and tell me the usual not to blame myself, yeah? I won't mind hearing some compliments or two as well.. :D

Else, I might go into serious depression mode and pretty bad side effects hoh?

What I did for Earth Day

Sometimes it's fun talking to children. My eldest son is rather inquisitive, which is something I would like to encourage him to do. I think I am too used to my own upbringing of "Don't ask questions. Sit down. Accept what I said. Can't understand what it's all about, then just memorize". Seriously.

And I believe it's not good at all. That's why I would like to see my children inquiring more. Though at times it's rather frustrating. No, "at times" is an understatement. It's most of the time VERY the frustrating and irritating. Especially when my mood has not been so nice and he would be buzzing like a bee near my ears, strumming "mommeeeeee.... mommeeeeee...." all the time.
Some of the times, I would be very patient to explain what he's asking. Some of the times, I tell him not to disturb me and play far far. That's when I would also feel terribly guilty, so afraid that one day the table would turn around and I am the one to be begging him to TALK TO ME!!! Yeah, I know eventually, that day would come!

Yesterday, while I was driving them home from school, it surprised myself more that even though I was in a very blardy pissed off mood, I was having fun explaining to him what plants can do for us... really!

He started off by asking me why don't we plant a tree, a fruit tree like papaya tree, but how do we plant a tree exactly?

I said, firstly, we need to get ready with some seeds. Seeds of the fruit we want to grow, of course. Then, we dig a little hole, put the seed inside and cover back with soil and water it everyday.

He asked, what do the seed eat then? How do they grow then?

Oh, we feed them with urine and shit (He goes :( urgh...yucks!). See? Plants take what we humans do not want, and not only that, they breathe carbon dioxide and release oxygen into the air for us humans as well.

Oh, he exclaimed. What is carbon dioxide and oxygen? he asked.

I said, oxygen is what humans need, breathing in the air into our lungs and the lungs would filter it, keeping the oxygen in our body and releasing carbon dioxide into the air.

What are lungs? What are they for??

See? The conversation could go on and on and on... as I explain, he would be inquiring and asking further. That's why these kind of conversations would make me more exhausted than running a marathon.

However the reward is much more than just receiving a trophy. At the end, he would be giving me that amazement look which probably says "WOW! That's how things work? My mom is really a genius! She really knows damn lot of things!" Haha.. (Wait until he knows the truth, huh?)

I guess that still didn't beat the time when he tells his dad "Go and ask mommy la, mommy knows everything one!"

Well, I guess this is parenthood. Though I beg to differ when my mom tells him "Don't ask so many questions. Children shouldn't be asking so many questions", I would be encouraging him silently to keep asking. But don't disturb me, disturb the father please.

So, who says my son is not smart (yes, when both the mom and dad are so smart, especially the mom)? I shouldn't be even disturbed that anyone would call my son not smart enough, especially from that someone who really pissed me off so much that day. I guess they should just go to ...

Anyhow, co-incidentally, today is Earth Day and I was telling him about the works of the greens. I guess that's one tiny little thing I did for this Earth Day, no?

And I am obliged to do this tag by Jo-N as well to "save our earth", since we are in this topic.

Save our Earth...

This site is a sponsored site where every click will generate fund to purchase and preserve endangered land. All you have to do is to click on “Click here to give – it’s free” button and the sponsors would do their part in terms of funding.

The second site contains quiz questions and every answer you provide helps plant a tree. So, if you are curious about it, click here to find out more.

Earth, have a very Happy Earth Day, yeah?

Tag: 6 Unimportant facts ___ me..

Dawn tags CY & me (among others), CY, in turn, tags me & MY (among others), and MY in turn tags me too, so I'm basically tagged 3 times...which means I supposed to do this 3 times, but anyway, it's.... unimportant.

And then, the topic also go evolved. I think the topic was "....facts ABOUT me", then later, it became "...facts TO me"... anyway, again, it's, err....... unimportant too la.

So, what do I do now? Aiyah, who cares, right? It's, anyway, unimportant as well.

I'm going to do what I like.

6 Unimportant facts about me:

1. My favorite game when I was young is to play "daddy and mommy, happy family", no competition, no winners, no losers, it's all about love and it's "....and they live happily ever after".

2. I have done several plastic surgeries to my face (shocking!), and one of them is removing a big mole right under my right eye! I guess a lot of my friends forgotten I have that prominent "trademark" on my face.

3. I have an unsymmetrical face. All my passport sized pictures show it so clearly.

4. When I was 14, I was a stalker. The guy was a Leung Chiu Wai-look alike.

5. I have Achluophobia.

6. I eat corn by first puncturing the "bag", then chew the fillings, leaving the punctured "bag" on the stalk, 2 rows by 2 rows. You have to see me eating it to know what I mean, it's really so much fun eating corn this way.

So, that's the 6 among many unimportant things about me.

As for the unimportant things TO me,

I think and think and think....

This is such a tough question. But if I can't think of unimportant things to me, then it should mean everything is important to me, right? But I don't really think everything is so important to me, other than my family, money and health. Confused like hell? Yeah, that's what I think too.

And so, I guess that ends my tag. Have a nice week ahead, everyone!

Tag: Before I was a mom..

.. I wondered if I could conceive easily.

... I was working on a full time job

... I never really thought about how amazing the feeling of the fetus growing and moving in the womb is.

... I never stayed in a hospital before

... I never bleed blood like water gushing before

... I never knew losing an unborn child could be so painful

... I didn't know my mom means so much to me

... I didn't know the real meaning of helpless and worried sick are when a child gets sick

... I didn't know there are bassinets for infants on flights.

... I love my husband and he was the most important person in my life (Now err...)

... I knew I wanted to stay at home and see them grow though (And still am)

Thanks, bkworm, to remind me how long I have since became a mom and what I was doing before that. Counting my blessings now.

And I am not tagging anyone here though. Feel free to continue the tag.

Tag: Awards

Wow! I'm so honored. There's a series of awards passed to me by her.

But it wasn't the awards which amazed me. It's these words..

" ... of Joy of a Homemaker for sharing her adventures as a loving wife and the wonderful mother to her children"

Hear that? See that? LOVING WIFE AND WONDERFUL MOTHER!!!

Well, yeah, that's because she hardly knows me.. hehe..

Still? At least I portrayed as a loving wife and wonderful mother anyway! :P

Well, seriously, I think I do deserve that *cough* *cough*. Then again, the friends I know, be them in person or from the internet, are even more of a loving wife and a wonderful mother than I am, yes they are. So, to all the loving wives and wonderful mothers I know (yeah, you), I like to share these honor with you.

And thanks, Yozoranitesky for thinking of me.

I've got a few tags...

... now, I've got to recall what they are! Hahaha....

Been very lazy, but it's a good way to post something out of nothing though.

Well, Jo-N first.

1. 10 things I hate :
a) having an awfully perfect figure and getting all the unwanted attention from ham-sup-lo everywhere I go (my goodness, can you please stop imagining things?)

b) being so filthy rich and worrying all the time about being kidnapped (oh, pleeeeaze, stop dreaming la, will ya)

c) married a handsome hunk and wondering how many mistresses he keeps (Yucks! your taste in men ah...)

Well, I understand by now, you would be throwing up all over on your pc/laptop already, so I spare you all.. HAHAHA...

Seriously, 10 things I hate....I guess I can't think of anything I TOTALLY DESPISE right now, though the list of things I despise is pretty long too. Anyway, let's not go into that, because this blog, after all, is about the "JOY OF A HOMEMAKER", right? (haha.. such a good excuse not to finish up the assignment)

2. My breakfast : 1 scoop Milo+ 1 scoop "3-in-1 White Coffee Mix" + 1 scoop condensed milk and 2 slices of soft fluffy white bread filled to the brim with thick cold butter slices (salted) and my mom's homemade delicious just-nicely-sweetened kaya....mmm... yummy!

(Yeah, sounds a lot of "lemak", hoh? ish!)

3. and I received "The Friendship Award" (Thanks a lot! I'm so.... flattered!)
Next came from Mommy, who wants to know if I spare the cane.

What? Spare the cane and spoil the child? No way, man!

In actual fact... it's because I have no patience. I used the easiest way out, I suppose. But when the eldest is getting more matured and can be reasoned, I tried to spare it as most as I could. In fact, I used too much on him when he was young, I am afraid it made him a little bit violent. I am trying to mellow it down now to reduce the negative impact.

Heck! I hope nobody reports to the authorities and get me into prison for child abuse. If you don't hear from me from now on, you know where I would be. And, Pek Imm, I would "repay" you ah.... haha..

Btw, I came across this funny humor "12 Days of Christmas" . That really made me laughed, bringing me back some joy in a moody cloudy day. Really am amazed with the kind of creativity some people are gifted with, such as the person who came out with that.

Tag: Autograph Book

Got this tag from her sometime ago. I thought this tag title really brought back a lot of fond memories. Yeah, just like her, I had autographs book, I think it must be what everyone was doing at that time, though I didn't have the faintest idea it was before.

I still keep those youthful tangible memories in my big TOYOGO plastic box, along with letters, diaries, postcards, birthday cards, school books, art pieces, exam papers, etc., all safely tucked away from the destructive cockroaches and dust and slimy creepy creatures. And when I feel nostalgic or blue, I would dug it up to spend some private time with them transporting me back to the old days, remembering those wonderful girlhood memories....aaah and I would count my blessings that I had enjoyed myself when I was young

Well, well, here's my answers to these questions below:

#1 What is your favourite movie?

So many of them, but I think the only movie I went 3x in 2 weeks was Jurassic Park. I can still remember how we Q-ed up for the tickets that day in Sunshine Square, Penang. The crowd there was so damn huge, I had never seen that scenario that day repeated.

#2 Who is your favourite singer?

I don't know.. it keeps changing. Probably Carpenters (for group) but could be Air Supply, then again, maybe Emil Chau... gives up!

#3 Which song gets you grooving in the morning?

Right now, no song at all, how to groove so early in the morning at 6.45am?? Wait till the school holidays are here..:)

#4 What is your favourite fruit?

Was, is and always will be.. mango and durian (both, can't decide which one is the more favored one)

#5 Who is your best friend (excluding your family)?

Harlo, can't say la.. if I say A, I would upset B and C and D... so, you know who you are, my best buddies.

#6 Name one activity you would like to indulge in, in your free time.

Hmm...have a good body scrub?

#7 When was the last time you laughed so hard till your sides hurt?

(taking a long long time to think....)

so depressing la, I don't remember when it was. I had been kinda happy and contented all these while though but I can't remember when the last time I laughed that hard.. *sob*

#8 Do you recall your last dream?

Yes. weird dream, as always.

#9 What is your all-time favourite hobby?

Reading. From novels right now to blogs.

#10 When was your last holiday without the children?

Just the past CNY here. I wasn't 100% enjoying myself though as I would be thinking and wondering about the children, and I told myself, heck, I am not leaving them behind on our next holiday.

Well, I don't know if my friends would like to be tagged or not, so MY, Fishman and CY, if you wish to do this tag, or when you nothing better to do, please do this tag, I would like to know your answers to those questions above.

Oh, yes, I have one topic to start a tag, and I think that would be an interesting one. Wait till I put it down and start that rolling. (hehe.. yeah yeah, nothing better to do...)

Tag: 5 things

5 things found in my room:-
1. massage belt which I got free from buying a water filter
2. ikea wall-shelf with 2 pairs of cute little bears (from the craze created by McD some 10 years ago), some gifts for our wedding, fake flowers, and 2 photographs.
3. my set of skincare products which I pay all my salary to
4. some fake jewellery and accessories in the little music box my honey gave me as the first gift.
5. of course, condoms (we don't want to get another "accident")

5 things I’ve always wanted to do:-
1. Win the Miss Universe title
2. Travel to exotic places like the Iceland.
3. Be proposed to, like what is watched in TVB soap dramas.
4. Have about half a dozen children myself and still look fabulous and hot!
5. Do more charity and create a difference for the less fortunate.

5 things found in my bag:-
1. A childish pink little pig I bought today, hooked on to the zipper. (What was I thinking then ah?)
2. Tissue
3. Four pens! (Why do I need so many of that in there?)
4. A sweet (for bribing my babies when I need to)
5. A broken strap watch, which was a gift for Valentine's in Year 2003, after I have given birth to #2 baby. (Tempted to throw it away and ask for a new replacement)

5 things found in my wallet:-
1. A passport photo of someone (oh, no, I think that's me!)
2. Some stamps
3. Credit cards and atm card
4. ID and driving licence
5. Some receipts

5 things I’m currently into:-
1. Definitely blogging!
2. Looking forward to year-end, don't ask why, I just love it for no reason.
3. Thinking hard how to make more money.
4. Shopping for a new digital camera.
5. Giving a hard time to my honey for arguing with me on my "women's instincts" of psycho-maids-sexually-abusing-and-planning-kidnaps-of-my-babies which is very 99% accurate.

5 beautiful mummies/women to tag:-
(Uh oh.. this could be a little bit of a problem..)
Guys and girl, baby and pug, you are tagged!
1. Jessy
2. Fish
3. Baby Shannon
4. 2 ko
5, Axel (sorry, I have to put you in to complete this tag! haha...)

My first "tag"!

omg, OMG, OH MY GRACIOUS GOD!! I'm so panicky now I don't know what to do!

I've been tagged! My very first virgin "tag"! Thanks, Leoni, you've now got to "take care of me for the rest of my life, for better or worse, till death do us part..." haha...

For my pathetic small little audience here, or my visitors whom I know so far has only been my friends, perhaps I'll do a little introduction to this mommy blogger.

I had stumbled open her blog via 5xmom and was instantly struck with her post on the lovely story of wearing our rings on our fourth finger. Something which I rarely, in fact, never did, was that I had immediately left a comment and didn't expect anything in return. A pleasant surprise it was, she returned my visit (making sure I am no internet psycho, I presume), and here I am, tagged!

Leoni shares "almost" many of my feelings and joy in little things children do. Furthermore, she's english-educated (like me), went to an mixed school in sixth form from an all-girls school (like me), blogging for her children (like me), so young (like me), and so pretty (like me) . I feel she's also a good writer, with a strong command in english with a good vocab, making her site such an interesting read. I would have liked to emulate her writing skills, really.

I guess I am beginning to enjoy the real fun in blogging. Considering so many of them who had matured in it, I feel slightly embarrassed that even after more than a year now, I am still like a "baby". :)

(Oh yes, after reading the "ring on 4th finger" story, I happily told my honey of it that night, expecting on the back of my mind that it would touch him too. Bugger, he purposefully tried so hard to make both the 4th fingers to come apart and trimphantly said, can mah.. I replied, ok la, I know I can't tahan you any longer too la... he giggled like a little boy, happy that he pissed me off)

I'll do the tag in the next post...

2026 and i'm here again
