Our latest purchases.

So far, every visits to some home exhibition or fairs prove to be rather "cash-drenching". Just last weekend, we spent about 5k for 2 items, one the Coway water filter/ dispenser and the other a vacuum cleaner. We were having our eyes on a juicer too, and Coway had us sold with a comparison study between the few brands we saw thus far. But that baby has to wait.

The water filter we are using right now is several years old (akin to 88yo in a human's life) and needed replacement. Every day I had to boil a big pot of filtered water and move it from one spot to another and yet to another. Now, with the cool babey, the filter and dispenser for hot, room temperature, and cold water, my work is reduced by, I calculated with a sophisticated formula, 0.914% each day. Yay! I have that more time to be busy on something else ( like being entertained by real life stories of certain groups of weird people on FB) The kids, korkor especiallly I would say, are super excited over it, after korkor saw that awesome cool thing in his friend's house last year. What is it with boys?

As for the irresistible vacuum cleaner, all hail to the sweep/mop 2 in 1 and functions like a mini Rainbow to suck the dust mite from your bed, with just a fraction of the original coveted Rainbow cleaner. To be more precise, about 1/8 of the cost. Only worry thus far is the effectiveness and reliability of the product. Hope it at least could give me a more squeaky awesome smooth touch to the floor that we walk on day in day out.

This home is becoming a junk yard, I kid you not.

Joining the bandwagon of smartphone nerds.

Late 1 night, hubs came home and threw a box over to me and said "A gift for you".

Immediately, of course, I was skeptical. Where got so good one? I know him too well, shall I put it that way?

If other hubs came home with a gift for the wife, sure people would say, sure he just "curi makan" outside la, feel guilty wudd... But knowing my hubs, this possibility, well, not impossible, but shall I say, low. Coz, really, he so kiamsiap, he won't pay to "curi makan". Free makan, who wants to offer la? Not like he so hansem or rich....

Anyway, I digress.

So, I took a look at the white box and saw that it was a Samsung galaxy S phone. Asked him where he got it from, he told me it's free!

Die! Free only means it's more expensive than the original! Scary!

I pestered him with a very worried look that says, die die also you must tell me...

He didn't want an S to replace his iPhone, he wants the S3. But he said he could give me his iPhone if I wanted that instead of this new phone. What do you think I'd say?

And, hence, finally, I get hooked to a smartphone like all those phone nerds do, every second of their time looking at the little screen and twiddling it around with the fingers. Before this, I always treat my phone as a tool for me to make calls or sms, sometimes facebooking or surfing the internet when I feel REALLY really bored. I don't see why people ought be a slave to their phones. But now I see. It's really all very interesting and brand new to me, but I had to tell myself to stop being addicted to it, like how I complained to hubs that he is one. Now, he's delighted that he can use back MY complaint on me! Hmmph!

The first thing I did was to transfer all my contact details over and before he could figure out for me how to do that, it was hours past after I did already! Not a big deal to learn the workings of a new phone. Maybe it's too user friendly also la. I love the way how it can connect the profiles of my contacts from gmail or facebook to the phone contacts and everything falls into 1 place by itself. Then I MUST group the contacts, which came to a huge number, like 800 something, to different categories. This would take some time indeed.

For him, he never does this kind of thing. He never does housekeeping for his phone and everything, his files, contacts, apps are all in a mess. Even korkor says he doesn't want to take over his dad iPhone when he does get his S3. For whoever takes over the phone, he/she is not allowed to delete his "stuffs" in it too. Where got people sooooo messy like that one? Oh yes, that's my hubs for you!

The other feature I like about is its' display of pictures from the gallery and I don't know how it does it, it somehow could pick up my very old blog's pictures and make a slideshow from the phone itself like a normal photoframe. It's so cool. And when I saw the glimpses of the kids' faces when they were like really really young, my heart just melted. Ooh... I so miss their toddlerhood!

I love the colors, the apps, the "smart" features and everything about it. But I'm still getting used to its new ring tones and notification tones. Maybe I shall turn off the notification tones coz it's too annoying that once it chirps, I have the urge to run straight to my phone and see who sent what. Yikes!!!! I need to get my life back soon!

Kids do not know what else to do when there's no iPad or iPhone.

Yesterday's public holiday saw us lazing around at home in the morning, having toasted bread, fruit juice, biscuits, milk, cereal for breakfast and homemade sushi for lunch. By noontime, I spent some time going through some school workbooks with all 3 of them and finally send them off to relax after a couple of hours or so.

Korkor went off to his friend's home to do a movie together, hearsay for a competition. Hubs and I went off to BTS to send the iPad for fixing.

Speaking of iPad, the screen was cracked during the journey home on the train back to Ipoh. Had I insisted that the iPad is to be left at home with us that fateful day, it wouldn't have to come to this state. I was so angry with him. He propped it up in front of his seat like watching movie in a mini cinema, I can't visualize how, and when the train braked, it fell to the ground and *piang* the glass broke.

So, he called up a few shops to change the glass screen, and one quoted RM780! Both of us were shocked at that exorbitant price!

Anyway, he found one who charges RM180 for it, but when it came back, the wifi was konked.

Hence we resent it back to have that fixed. And the hubs had just unlock the password and gave it to the unknown stranger to have it done! Can you imagine the shocked face of mine?

Die la! All the "private" info and photos are at the expense of this stranger! I just don't understand how come the hubs is not concerned at all!!

(OK, that was also part of the reason I came home and changed certain passwords to my inbox, facebook, and what else there are. So while I was at it, I changed the online nick, blog title as well, since I'm pretty tired of it! Nice, eh?)

While we were outside lepak-ing, the younger 2 called up and cried boredom! Oh, they were home since my mom is around right now, and I don't quite fancy taking them to shopping malls since they would be crying boredom anyway.

When they were complaining they were bored, I mean, c'mon, what is this?? Schoolday complain boredom jiao wa jek, holiday also complain??

I blame it on the tech gadgets. At that time, the iPhone and iPad were out gaigai with us, so they had nothing to play with! And it's such a bad thing to happen to a child!

Whatever happened to imagination and creative play? OK, I am to blame partly, but I always resigned with a big sigh when I see papa always chucking those gadgets right in their faces! Oh.. I do hate these new inventions, really!

So, that night when I climbed into bed with them before their bedtime, I ranted about the feeling I had to them. These gadgets are good, if it's used sparingly, but when it is abused, see the effect? It is totally killing their creative thinking for play! Yucks!

Happy camper, I surely am one!

I have 2 new babies recently, and for these, I am so in love with my hubs!!!!

One of them was the one I mentioned sometime ago, something which some crazy readers thought it could vacuum and process food (what does go on in their minds?? *looking for a fight*)

So far, I made soya bean drinks, peanut dessert, black sesame dessert, lots of red dates and 5 other stuffs from the chinese herbs stores, absolutely turning out awesome! I love the new baby very much.

And just last week, I finally had the Sony NEX interchangeable lens camera. My parents and kids asked why I do need another new camera when we can take pictures with the iPhone and iPad. How do I explain about the love of a hobby? People should be passionate about their own hobbies! That's the key to living a contented and happy life.

Now, I just need to have the 3rd baby I am so craving for.... that one, I need someone to help me carry it from the US. Can anyone help? *sob* baby, how much I want you....

Do I need them?

My hub loves going to exhibitions and fairs. He always pulls us along and initially, I thought he just wants to take advantage of the giveaways and prizes.

But I do admit, there are times it's not entirely so. Sometimes it opens our minds and eyes to just see what is new in the market. We got a few stuffs from these events, often at good bargains too.

I got a blender which is so convenient, easy to use and least fuss when cleaning that I believe it's the best purchase I ever made for the kitchen use. It's the only kitchen gadget I used most and almost daily.

The other day, we went to this MF Furniture and Furnishing Fair. Spent like almost a whole day there. We were almost *this* close to purchasing a robot which can clean the floor and double up as a vacuum cleaner and a food processor which whips up peanut paste, black sesame paste (both my favorite desserts), soya bean drink, red dates and wolfberry drink which tastes so good yet takes up only 20 mins to be ready. This processor stirs and cooks the ingredients at the same time and thus, does the job very well.

But each of these items costs a whopping RM1k+!

What do you think? Worth every cent of it?

My laptop is good as new again. yay!

I think I own this laptop since 2007 or 2008, can't remember very well, and changed 2 batteries so far. Recently, it had been moving at a very slow speed, like snail slowly making its way, sometimes taking long naps as and when it likes. I mean, it had slowly been getting "old" but the past few weeks were unbearably slow and stressed me out like crazy. And that was also part of the reason why I felt lazy to open it up and surf the internet as sometimes it just takes 30 mins minimum to load. So slowly I had been off the internet for awhile, only checking my mails and updates from the ever convenient Ipod touch.

Now that I can't tahan anymore, I had finally reformatted my C drive, after weeks of postponement. It took my several hours to complete the task and I'm loving it right now. As good as new again. It's like totally thrashing everything that was cluttering in the home and getting a bright clean sparkling feel once again. Hmm... can't wait to move into our new home too.

But got to find the programs to install back again. Guess I need Adobe Photoshop more than anything else.

I need a new camera, you think?

I have no pictures of CNY 2011 AT ALL. *sob* I am itching to show off some pics of our CNY 2011 like my friends in FB *SOB*.. then again..

And why I have not taken any pictures this year? Not because of my PMS-ing mood.

Both my cameras are dying flat on me. One is at the service center waiting for me to claim it back, while hub had decided we shouldn't be spending RM350 to fix it, hence I don't have the urgency to make that long trip and take it back home again with a faulty screen, what's the point, right?

The other is having a problem of only detecting flat batteries even when I bought them new and come in good brand names. I have to drive all the way to Shah Alam to its service center to find out the cause and I suspect it won't be just an RM10 to solve the hiccup. So, I have no mood to make the trip there as well.

As such, I have no digital cameras to play with and I am dying to get my hands on a brand new quality one to take pictures of myself the kids. Do I have a good valid reason to buy a new camera? What kind of camera should I get? Decisions, decisions...

Happy with new toy.

Well, I told one of my "blog fanzee" (he claims he is the no.1!) that I'm NOT, NEVER going to talk about iThis and iThat... but, for this time round, I have to eat my own words.

OK, so the iPhone fever has mellowed down, probably coming up next would be iPad (according to some silai, it's for menses day), I so happened to not caught in it, and only got my new i.... Pod. Not even a phone to start with. bah!

Anyway....

I am like a little girl, all excited over again, laying my hands on my new toy, an iPod Touch 8Gb, mind you, courtesy of SC credit cards. Don't know how hub did it, but I have to admit, I'm awed by his ability to secure a few nice goodies from all these credit cards so far. He handed me an iPod shuffle earlier, but I wasn't interested in it, but this touch one is so different.

From the casing, the package, the sleek look and touch, the easy to use layout, I am completely blown away by these creative people behind its invention. The colors are so bright and colorful... and and and... (ok, i shaddup)

I admit .... the reasons why I want this gadget.

1. To store my contacts and ask for people's contact numbers the cool way. NOT the pen and paper (yes! I was still doing that last weekend, and I kena bullied!)

2. To wave in front of my kids, "rasuah" them to behave well when I need them to. The games to download... too many to choose from. I'm totally awed. (Ok, I said that twice)

3. When I'm bored to death outside, I can surf the internet or check my mailbox with Wifi connection.

BUT some problems I figured...

1. too many details in that thing. Can be serious if it's lost.

2. hub can see kinky stuffs (which he's not allowed to!) easily. I need to find a way to hide these (reminder to self).

3. The biggest problem.. I already tau wan ngan fah with the loufah, now add on to this... die!

In any case, this is a very nice Mother's Day gift (from hub, or uhm, bank?). *rub hands* still another bday gift on the way...I lurv the month of MAY!

We so need one of this.

Last night, we went to watch "Race to Witch Mountain". Koko can sit and watch for the whole show, though I wonder how much he could comprehend. Then again, that wasn't very important. While the other 2 were restless and did not know how to appreciate it yet.

After the show, we passed through a digital exhibition on the ground floor and saw this cool gadget. It's a trilingual dictionary, english, BM, chinese. The feature I love most is the touch screen and I can write the character in chinese on the screen and it will decipher the code for me, doesn't matter I do not know how it pinyin or count the number of strokes. We both so love it and so need it very much. It will be very useful especially when papa is not home.

For koko, he loves the feature where he does not need to know the kata dasar of the malay word he is looking for. That's because when everytime he checks a word, he will come and ask me what the base word is and before I tell him, I would usually bark at him to make a wild guess before opening his mouth to ask me. Apart from that, there are many other features that make both of us lau-sai-hau-sui. I wish it's not that pricey, tagged at Rm1400, then I would have straight away brought it home. But come to think of how useful it is for the younger 2 later as well, it's quite a steal, ain't it?

I am looking if we can just have similar functions on the internet, FOC, rather than paying so much for this gadget. Do you know of any?

Let's play some guessing game

Seen this? Know what this is? Yeah, I know it says "Car MP3 Digital Player", but do you know how it works? Let's see who knows..
