Lazy, tired and demotivated

The exams are just around the corner, in fact korkor's mid year exam is already here, but the sense of kancheong is nowhere to be felt. Prepared, you ask? Far from it, I believe. But I have no motivation or urge to push them to the core to study for it. Tell me why.

I just want to lie back and sleep. I just want to dig stories of current issues to find a ray of hope. I don't feel like cooking. I don't want to do my groceries shopping, though some stock is running low. I feel so awful lazy and tired. During the afternoons, my eyelids are soooo heavy but I can't sleep, dammit. But I find it so difficult to start tutoring the kids. Come night time, I just urge the kids to kaotim their homework and off to bed as soon as they can . Then I start playing Candy Crush till my eyes can't open anymore, and only then be going to sleep but that would be left 4-5 hours before the alarm rings.

Grr! What is wrong??

Windows upgraded and personal data gone!

My son just wiped off my data by reformatting C drive. Fortunately my pictures were all safely tucked in D drive, but still some of the times I would be really worried that all the pictures I stored in here and in the back up are all gone. That would indeed be a nightmare to me. The pictures and videos are just priceless.

In any case, my laptop is running pretty slow and sometimes it drives me nuts while I sit and wait for a page to load or for some "reaction" after tapping on its keyboard. It helps I still have my little Samsung which comes in handy to check on FB status, play some games of Scrabble or Candy Crush whilst having nothing else to do.

I had been longing to upgrade my laptop, but yet, I can't think of any good reason enough to spend those good money. It's not really for work anyway, I use the laptop to edit my pictures, blog, surf the internet, MSN chats, which are all just for leisure and not generating money to justify a brand new laptop. It's a lot of money to justify! There are just so many items in the waiting list right now and a new laptop is not like the top priority. Sigh!

I still have many pictures yet to share and blog, and those include the last couple of days in our Thailand trip, our Singapore trip, CNY and most recently the Melaka trip over the weekend. First, need to get my programs back installed here, and it has to be done soon!

Rant post.

I wanna rant a bit here today.

The other day, I sent the boys to their extra-curricular class and stopped by the parked cars at the side to let them down. I stopped further away knowing that the boys, especially didi would be too careless and might just hit the car next to ours. Before I finish my sentence "careful, don't...*small thud sound* knock the car".

10 secs later, korkor who went out after didi, was scolded by the big-sized driver of that car "hey, you! you banged my car". Korkor looked stunned standing there and at first I didn't know what happened, then the man appeared before me and started scolding me as well. Watudo, keep apologizing profusely lor, kan? I'm so sorry, really sorry, truly sorry...

But he kept on and on and on about how parents should be responsible, and not just stop at the side to let the kids off as and when we liked blah blah blah...

WTF, what do you want, right? Want me to pay you for that slight little scratch? Want to take the chance to extort me, izzit? Or do you want to scratch my car back? Of course I didn't say those words la, of course I didn't want to anger him further and try to avoid being extorted by him. So, I just kept on saying sorry profusely while his anger subsided (I think)

So in the end, he waved me away, and I yelled out loudly "I'M SO SORRY, SIR!!!!"Jeez... my heart was truly thumping away, fearing he might want beat me up or something. People these days, are craZZZEEEE!!!!

And I can't get this off my mind, why do people care so much about their cars, huh? Little bit of scratch, such a big deal meh? Want to drive around in crazy traffic KL, be prepared to get some scratches on your car la. Else, keep your nice shiny car at home in your garage la. Or just get an old car and drive around, then won't be so heartpain to see it bumped.

I'm not saying that I was right. I try to avoid these little mishaps as much as possible and I teach my kids the same thing too. But sometimes, you just can't be 100% careful. In the end, a car is just a car, be it an expensive car or a cheap car. Of course, features wise, it's a different story, but a car does not have a soul, so there's no need to get all worked up over some minor little scratches! I'd say, it's just too pathetic if one thinks a car is more precious and valuable than people or even strangers.

Then I heard of this resident in our area who was so worked up over her guest's car parked at the visitor bay who later found it scratched. She kicked up a big fuss over it, and even demanded that the management employ more guards to GUARD THE CARS! My goodness! That's like so wasting precious manpower and OUR MONEY in the end. Is our own safety less important than the shiny expensive cars?

So, if you scratch my car, really, I would wave it off, and tell you "it's ok, no biggie" and then I would go home, still feeling happy about myself. Maybe not the car, but still, it's running fine, all is well.

My favorite hobby at the moment.

You couldn't have guessed that!

I'm crazy doing egg whites masks!!!!

I didn't know egg whites can be so powerful. That was one day I discovered from the wonderful world of the internet blogging world that it can cleanse the face no other ways could.

So I thought might as well give it a try, after all, how much an egg costs, yeah?

The first time I did it, it was messy with the smell foul of raw egg all over my face, body, neck, fingers and everywhere on my vanity table.

When I peeled it off after it hardened, I just took a swift look on it and wasn't impressed.

I tried it another time, but improvised with better preparation, making the procedure less messy. Happy. But still, the outcome looked almost the same.

I think I did a few times, and almost gave up on it. That is, until one fine night, I took a torchlight to shine on the hardened egg white on thin facial cotton and got a shock of my life! There were SO MANY white heads, huge, ugly to fine small little ones all stuck on to it like... like.... I DON'T KNOW HOW TO DESCRIBE IT!

And from that moment on, I keep doing it and scrutinize the mask to see all the ugly alien stuffs that were all extracted out from the pores. I only realize my problem with white/black heads were so much more serous than I thought! It's such a liberal, momentous, almost triumphant feeling of winning the battle against the white/black heads. Noone and nothing could have done the same job as this. And I almost kick myself in the butt for not knowing this little "open secret" for 40 years of my life! How can??!!

I also figured it's more effective to do it during the daytime as the pores would be opened up more than the night time and the extractions are much easier.

Now that I'm beginning (or hopeful) to see less white heads on my face and the pores (hopeful) are smaller, I'm also beginning to feel disappointed when I don't see the result on the mask as full with those ugly monsters stuck on to it as before. On the other hand, I actually should feel relieved. Ish! Such a contradictory feeling.

Time to change a key-less lock!

I am so darn furious with the hubs.

By 10pm last night when he reached home and asked me to open the door for him, I noticed that there wasn't any sight of his set of keys at home. So, where was it?

We searched high and low for it... no, make it, I was the only one panicking and ransacking the whole house to look for them, but to no avail. That guy? He just nonchalantly looking while watching his lousy tv series at the same time! Urgh!!! How to live with this guy?? Tell me!!

In the end, I found out the keys were with the guard post and the guard had picked it up right in front of our house entrance that morning itself.

So, what do you think we should do now?

The scoundrel said, "See? Told you it would be returned" and had the cheek to say everything's ok now.

Everything's NOT OK!

I am not that certain that the whole set of keys were missing and were in the hands of some strangers who knew EXACTLY what those keys are for, for the whole of 12 HOURS!

And I went on and on and on scolding and complaining and pulling my hair out and told him (not asked) that I would be changing the whole set of locks, no matter how much that would costs! It's blardy high time to teach him a lesson to be more careful with his set of keys the next time.

What do you think? What locks do you recommend? Any locksmith to recommend me?

I want to sleep but can't, coz..

Gxfc!

That was mentioned by someone to someone else in FB and I thought"hey, that's a bit vulgar, you know! The f can stand for something else altogether and it still sounds like grammatically ok. But what the heck, it also sounds fun!"

This year, I received wind that my mil had been feeling unwell about a couple of weeks ago and been getting worse from early of this week. Oh dear! Though I don't mean to be mean, but I was thinking "who's going to cook all those meals??!!" The daughter-in-laws, surely. Undoubtedly.

A few days ago, a friend posted on FB that she gets depressed every time when CNY is approaching and the feeling is just indescribable. During a chat with another of my workout friend, she was also telling me CNY has been no fun ever since the wedding. I guess it could be a universal thing then. Married women detests CNY (of course for a minor few) while men are just so lucky. Nothing changes for them and they get to go out for drinks or gambling sessions, eat whenever they want to without lifting a finger and just basically, enjoy themselves even more!

Tell me if you are the one looking forward to celebrating CNY everytime after your wedding and if so, then you dont belong to this prestigious club, ok!

As for the title of this post, I just want to say, I called my mil to send my regards and voluntarily committed *gasp* to bring home for them, my own made butter cake which both my inlaws love so much (only the one made by me and that was so not me!) to make her feel slightly better, then in my rush all day, I only managed to get some ingredients which was lacking in the fridge from a crazy place of shoppers doing their last minute CNY shopping and now, it's baking in the oven and I feel uncomfortable to leave it inside for the entire night, worrying if the oven will crash and catch fire in the middle of the night, and so, I'm here typing furiously without the proper flow of thoughts and I'm fighting off sleep which is sooooooo getting into me now. WHAT DO I DO???

F F F!!!!

gxFc to you all!

Infected.

One fine evening, hubs came home and announced he needed to go see doctor. If you had known him, this sort of thing coming from him is a BIG thing. He wouldn't want to see a doctor unless he's really in pain or there was some serious issue. Or shall I say, he wouldn't want to pay to see a doctor....

Naturally, I jumped out of my skin and asked him (in a very concerned tone) what went wrong. He said his lump under his armpit was getting bigger and making him wincing in pain. Lump? This sort of word made my knees go weak, possibly more so at this age when we hear friends in our circles battling fights with lumps. I didn't hear him mentioning of anything before as well. Apparently he had it for 2-3 days and he brushed it off thinking it was nothing other than an insect bite or mosquito bite.

At that moment, I did feel very worried. Oh God! Though he made me wanna jump down from the window many times, I still feel he's a very big part of my life and I am not so ready to live without him around. I felt so sorry for all the anger I welled up in me from our fights and quietly prayed desperately that it wasn't a big issue, on our way to the clinic.

When the doctor saw him, he took a look at it and said "ah, this kind of "chong", you need to wait lor. Wait for the pus to form and then go for operation to picit the pus out and you will be ok again." *whew* I was really relieved. Thank God it was only a "chong".

Now that it was diagnosed as harmless, I could go and laughed at him for his misfortune. Little pain also can't tahan, kept wincing like a baby. But poor thing, he didn't sleep well because of the agony the little damn thing caused and his right hand had to be slightly away from his armpit else it would hurt. Damn funny looking at him!

And finally after few more days, the pus was formed and he did the "operation" himself, squeezing the pus out *ewwww...* and he was cleared. Good for him!

But not good for me. I wonder if it's karma. Now I feel some lump on my head at the back of my right ear and it's PAINFUL!!! *bawl*

Transformer make up

Over the weekend, I attended a wedding of my hub's cousin. All my inlaws were here for the occasion and we were out for like almost the whole of 3 days, except back for a shower and dressing up for the dinner.

Since I have very little opportunity to put on make up and transform myself, this time I put in a little bit more effort into this task. And the end result? I was so pleased with myself. I looked so good. At least I felt I looked very good. Though I think it was more suitable for a halloween party.

Korkor did comment on my make up. He said I looked like a panda. I think a beautiful panda at that. Or at least I consoled myself to be. I didn't ask him further.

Do you want to see a pic? Nahh... I didn't dare to take any pictures of myself, and I hope I wasn't photographed either during the night. sigh....

Fridays

I love Fridays, as most people do. For me, the main reason I love them is I can sleep in the next day. It's torturing to wake early when the sky is still dark. Oh, how I wish the kids can settle themselves getting ready to school and I just need to get up from bed, get changed and walk out of the door to send them to school and back again to plop back onto bed, before I am all wide awake.

But no such thing happening for several few years, I suppose. Yet, I prefer them going to morning school than afternoon. I feel their days are more evenly balanced somehow. Of course, it's not entirely true.

Then again, yeah, some (my reflection in the mirror) would argue that I could go to bed early and get the same amount of eyeshut instead. Seriously, I tried to. But there are just too many distractions, or should I say, temptations. I would be tempted to enjoy the quiet silence of the night, going online, or watching TV, or reading books (yeah, right!) or just blogging (was I blogging often last 2 weeks?)

Last Saturday night, I stayed up to watch The Prestige till 3am, after watching Armageddon with the kids. I should knock my head on the wall!

Last night, I was eager to watch the ending of the lame TVB series showing on Astro and went online instead of waiting till next Monday for the last episode and stayed all the way to 1.30am. I'm SO TIRED NOW!!!

OK, I should stop crapping and just go to sleep. Night!

1 reason why it didn't work out.

One of the reasons I broke up with my ex-boypren in uni time, I told him, was that I always at the losing end when in an argument with him, coz we converse in Mandarin! Can you imagine? Me? Saying wo-ai-ni when I actually wanted to say 'get lost'? It was a lousy excuse for breaking up, I know.

the day i cried.

It's like releasing all the hurt I felt in the heart. so painful.

And then, as I've stopped, I needed to look for distractions for my weary self and started looking at my phone book to see who I can call. But hell, there's really noone to talk to at that point of time. Not advisable as well, as I might just break down and cry over the phone making the one on the other end feeling lost and awkward. It felt just so lonely. Furthermore, I don't think anyone likes to hear the same old boring story over and over again, like "oh well, did we already hear this before??", are there?

case in point, point in case, I am so defeated and deflated. And it seems when I'm at the pit bottom, even the kids want to bully me too and shove me another hurtful kick of theirs. Not good for mother-children relationship. Even the washing machine is turning its back on me!

Dinner tonight with a twist.

The rice bucket ran empty today, I just realized. Shiats! I should have asked the hub to come home early and we go eat out in conjunction with the public holiday tomorrow. But the soup was already cooked and the fish paste was all ready to be made yong taufu. What to do?

I update my FB status about my condition and some kind hearted souls actually suggested me on some ways to re-org the dinner with bread and noodles, rojak style. As usual, I replied with some uncanny replies and it may sound rude and unappreciative of me if the other party does not have the same sick sense of humor. Anyway.

At the end, I drag my butts out of the house and went nearby to buy a blardy expensive 5kg of rice pack for dinner. I believe my hub would feel weird to be eating yong taufu with bread and soup, as he's pretty much a typical chinaman fler. Came back and fixed dinner which took rather lots of hard work. But I must say, the yong taufu I made from scratch was mighty kick-ass! So much so that I wanted to give myself a Best Chef award. Though it may be me the only participant, but who's counting. And I feel my hub is such a lucky fella to marry me. *drown myself happily in self appraisal* L.O.L

I'm gonna design my home this way next time.

The only time I always wish we stay in a smaller house is when I clean and mop the floor. I guess it's a mutual feeling between us silais (except those who have reliable domestic helpers). The time for me to just mop the floor for 3 rooms, the hall and the kitchen takes about 2 hours each time. And a lot of complaints and wishes that there are less stuffs to move around and about.

I could have just close 1 eye and leave those space underneath the sofa, cabinets and everything with a little space under to be just the way it is. Who would want to touch those surfaces anyway? It's going to be dirty soon anyway. All the excuses I come up with to just cut the task short. But sometimes I just can't do it. I HAD to move them away to complete my task anyhow.

Now that I know what works and what not, I already had in mind how my new home gonna be designed. Everything shall be either sitting on the floor leaving no gaps for dust to gather OR hanged from the ceiling without touching the floor, like those hanging waterfall in Avatar. Ahh... mopping floor would takes less than 30 mins then! I might even mop the floor twice a day.

Sick after days of shopping.

I'm sick. Cough and flu bug. Last night my throat made me choke till half death, and I only managed to sleep at about 2+. And today I looked zombed out, but somehow still couldn't sleep during the day. Ihatechew, bug!

Blame it on my laziness, I had been watching TV other than doing my motherly roles but I was too lazy to boil herbal tea for the family and myself. I hold on to the belief that once or twice chinese herbal leong sui a week, keeps the bugs away. Finally, it hit on me and meimei. Poor her, coughing hard too like me.

So my mom who's here on a holiday, had been pampering us with all the motherly food and stuffs. Hub had been away for these 2 weeks, and what do I do? Of course, go shopping for CNY clothes la, what else, right? tee hee!

It's all done, I'm so happy. It's tough looking for some good nice tees for the boys, coz they are all so boring stuffs. I was considering to get one of those bold loud CNY red and gold outfit for the kids this year, but nah.. it's too.... fugly and expensive. Furthermore, I don't think they will be worn after cny is over.

So, it was all tees for them, as they hate shirts and collared stuffs. My priority is that they are comfortable in the hot weather during those house hopping around.

But for meimei, it's sooooo hard to resist those pretty clothes. I keep telling myself "enough! she has enough new clothes jor, but....." sigh! Blame it on my good taste! When I see any nice ones, I would look at the price tag and keep to the budget. Yesterday I was browsing around again, and dem! those 2 pretty little frocks are too hard to give it a pass! In any case, which one was?

So, she has 6 pieces of new clothes to celebrate the new year, where the boys have 5 each and my hub, 3. As for me, woah! I'm not telling... oh, and I have a new year hairdo too! An afternoon of coloring, treating, cutting and perming. 1 pat joe, 2 pat yau. Very the "hot" now! I mean, the credit card bills.... die, when the statements are here.

Priorities! priorities!

The cleaner called in sick, sounded really "almost separuh nyawa" over the phone. Hope that's not H1N1. With the kind of flu spreading around, I had rather she stayed away than coming over. So, I had been working my butts off cleaning up the whole place.

Today's the 2nd time she still reported sick. No way out, I had to do major spring cleaning than just the quick-hit-and-run.

I managed to finished off sweeping and mopping the floor, cleaning tables and cabinets surfaces and dropped dead while there are still the pile of clothes waiting to be ironed, the toilets need its scrub and the sofa to be wiped . Then, of all days, I have to do the unthinkable and bake some cupcakes! Where's my priorities???

But the aroma of freshly baked raisin vanilla cupcakes filling up the air was sooooo good. It was awful nice enjoying them with a cup of coffee.
Tomorrow would be carrot cake with cream cheese icing.

Bored at the car salon

After having our brunch that day, we took the car to a car salon. It's a drive thru carwash, cheaply affordable at RM2 per normal saloon car. If you pump petrol minimum of RM20, you even get another 1 buck discount off from the carwash. Quite good bargain, don't you think? Alas, I don't earn any commission advertising for them, I just thought good things must be shared. Then again, if you live far away from that gas station, it would be plain stupid to drive over just for this, right?

The carwash has a few "stages". First, you drive through this shower...

Then, another high pressure shower, with 2 manglajai waiting to wipe the ... heck! I don't know!

Next, you drive to the right according to the sign and they paint your car white with all the buih sabun. 2 manglajais are there to clean each side of the car fast and efficiently.

And which brings you to the next stage..

I thought the kids would have some fun being inside the car during the whole carwash process. YOu bet they are! Kids are so easy to be thrilled.

And that was what you pay 2 bucks for. If you wish to clean and vacuum the inside of the car, then you are directed to another area and that's additional 4 bucks for that.

While we were there, papa was lured into giving our 2 years old car a nice polish. It took more than an hour for the whole work to be done, so we camwhore a bit, ngong-kui-kui look at those workers at work a bit, count the cars per hour a bit, shop at the gas station shoppe a bit, and don't know what else we did. It was so boring. Nevertheless, here are the boring pictures.

I just cut his hair a day ago. Nice hoh? Can be a hairstylist anot?

In the end, total damage at the car salon = RM150. The car jiao "song", we all bored till can die.

A very fun project is about to start

Bought a full length mirror finally, after several years of procrastination.

And it stems from a "project" idea with a 38-poh to show off our new purchases, sharing it over yahoo photo-sharing application with each other.

Oooh.. I so gonna love this new fun thingy. Here's the first one "camwhoring" with meimei.

p/s: Still laughing silly when I recall he said "I don't want to know", when he found out the hiao pictures she took of herself. What on earth are we gonna do with ourselves?

p/p/s: who else wanna see me modelling in sexy lingeries? Come and invite me to photo share. But take precaution, it's NSFW.. :D

2 flights for the price of 1.

My LKJ was to fly somewhere on Monday evening for business. Next morning when I woke up, I saw his sms, wondering "so nice? know how to report arrival to me this time?". How wrong I was. He told me that their flight detour to another city because the pilot couldn't land on their destination due to bad weather. And the stopover lasted for few hours before returning back to home base. *raised eyebrows* That was indeed something new. 10pm to 8am.. back to square one. Fly loi fly hui... tak gor kat. :)

After gautim all the kids to school, I was having my leisure breakfast at a high class shopping mall, (known as passat to some silai-s) when my phone rang. LKJ called and said he's at KLIA and awaiting news for their re-flight. Later, he called again and told me the re-flight is re-scheduled to 9pm that day and MAS arranged for them to check in to the nearest posh Pan Pac just beside KLIA. He told me to drop everything right there and then and go meet him to dot dot dot.

Reluctantly, I followed his order and drove over there. Dang! I felt like a w*ore (only non-paid one, and exclusive a bit). But we did have some fun. Since it was so impromptu, we hadn't have any "protection" and I'm wondering if we can invoice MAS if I do have another bb from this experience.

He followed me home for the few hours and went to pick the kids. Meimei was really surprised to see her dad and asked "Papa, what are you doing here? How come you are not in BD?" making it sound like he wasn't welcomed home. :)

Looking forward to see him back for the weekend. Where to go leh? Heiz.. if korkor is not having his exams soon, we'll be heading to some short getaway break. I think it's been sometime since.

Thoughts while driving

Yesterday, I drove to a less-travelled route to have lunch, just so to find that perfect fish ball that suits my palette.  In doing so, I p...
