Our very first time vacationing at Club Med whilst almost everyone we know had been in one before.
With the kids now almost grown up and j in US, family vacation is not the same as before and I guessed it would be even harder in the future as A would be going to college next year.
I planned this in advance thinking to give the kids a nice break from the strenous year of online studies and the recent completion of A's UEC exam but this might have been unnecessary. Gone were the days family vacations were happy and enjoyable. A didn't seem very keen to go anywhere.
However, many occurrences seemed to be an advantage on our side. For one, the karak highway just reopened fully on the evening eve of our trip, otherwise we would have to use a longer route to get there, which is 2 hours more. The aftermath of the big flood which hit parts of Bentong was still seen along our way.
Secondly, the weather had been very favourable, we were blessed with nice sunny days throughout the 3 days with just a slight drizzle on the morning of our second day. As such, we could really enjoy all its facilities to the fullest.
Third in point, so happened C had a friend she knew from her days at DSA also vacationing with her family. This made both their stay more engaging as her friend encouraged them to join the teens club on the second day. I felt happy to see both of them mixing with other teens, local and international.
I intended to extend our stay for another night in a different accommodation just to go surfing and experience more of the locals way of life but the kids were really disinterested in the idea. From a nice resort to a low star rating chalet, this downgrade wasn't very appeasing for C while A just want to go home. Sigh... Guess I'm done going anywhere with them. It would be just me and hubby or with friends in any other holiday plans from now on.
