Yoga and buffet steamboat

Over the weekend, I followed my good buddy, JM, to her yoga workout at a very comfortable and well-kept bungalow along Jalan Ampang. It is an advanced class, and I have no idea what advanced yoga means. The yoga experiences I have had so far before it were a few beginners' classes in Brunei wayyyyy many years ago, and the recent home-yoga sessions with our Wii Fitness.

Soon, I found myself in positions I never could have imagined, stretching the hamstrings and the whole body and limbs. It was interesting and good fun, but the next day every inch of my body ached like hell. I'm so impressed with the instructor's flexibility with his body parts, it's like folding himself up like folding a paper. I hope to be joining her again for the workouts.

That evening, we went to the much-heardabout steamboat buffet at Sunway Mentari, after knowing the popularity of it and how tasty those grilled chicken wings are, for over a year. The traffic at the short stretch from FH along LDP to the U-turn was damn packed. It seems like rush hour traffic. But fortunately we still arrived on time for our 7.30pm booking. Then again, it didn't make any difference, as the staff couldn't find our booking number anyway.

The number of people having a feast there was soooo darn kwacheong. Across the street, there's one where the people were seen loitering and waiting outside the premises, waiting for a table to be seated. Goodness! Recession? What's that?

Hearing so much about it from friends and food blogs, I am so eager to sample the food out and decide for myself if it's that good. The one we went, it has BBQ stuffs too, and both JM and I gave thumbs-up to the grilled lamb and the grilled sotong. The rest are really ma-ma-dei. Even the chicken wings. It was too sweet for our liking.

It is nice to be seated outside though, under the dark black night, with a good breeze, enjoying food and company of people you are with. But for us, we had waited for a lonnnnggg time for the soup to boil, made worse without any cover over the pot. It was really potong stim. Both my hub and JM grabbed plates and plates of raw food to gobble up, but by the time it was cooked, we were rather half full with the BBQ and cooked food served on the platter. The soup was also ma-ma-dei, not much oomph to brag about.

Then again, all of us do agree, for that price to be served BBQ as well, it wasn't considered too pricey laa..but, as a lesson from the experience (not like it's the first time anyway, but the lesson seemed to never stay in the head), never try to eat everything in buffets (at our age, don't overstuff yourself hoh, can die one), but selection is very important. Must choose to eat the most expensive food, that's the only way to justify the money you pay for it. Remember now! Darn!
