Snatched!

Yeah, finally my turn. My mom had been telling me that forever. So, she wasn't surprised. Definitely very glad I wasn't hurt, and certainly very relieved the boys are not injured.

It happened under the bright hot sunny day, after I picked the boys from their schools, outside my friend's house who had just called me to drop by for awhile. That 2 buggers on a bike was certainly on their rounds looking for opportunities and I guess I was at their right place, right time. Me, definitely, wrong place, wrong time, and definitely careless of me for not scrutinizing the area first before alighting.

When the pillion rider came to me with a knife in his hand, my feeling was rather mixed. It was like facing a devil one on one, one part of me was brave and wanted to fight with him, the other part was scared to death and would have pissed in my pants if he had came any nearer to harm me or worse, my darling child who was just alighting from the car at the back.

I held my umbrella in my hand, pointing at him, and shouting at the same time, hoping my friend would come and save my day soon, but as the worry of him harming my little darling was just too much to bear, the tug-of-war with the handbag in the middle was a lost battle. He jumped back in the bike and rode off in lightning speed, it was impossible to chase after him even my friend jumped in my car and told me to give chase.

Damnit! "Take this !@#$%^&*, farking bastards. Nothing better to do, good-for-nothing scums." (Sorry, need to let it out from my system) What kind of a place are we living in?

In the end, I didn't lose much, strictly speaking. Just some couple of hundred bucks (maybe), my IC, credit cards, ATM card, driving license (which are all useless to him, except the cash, of course) and my handphone (sigh, again!). Maybe the tissues would do him good too, as their loot wasn't even enough to get something decent for their girlfriends. Maybe the pad inside the bag would do some goodness.

And I lost my newly bought "I'm not a Plastic Bag" bag just before CNY. Shit! Jeez! Need to make police report, redo driving license, IC, credit cards, ATM. I just hate all these trouble. Thank God I cleared up some of the things in the bag before that too, like the vouchers from the Matta fair. Now, the family suite, it's going at RM250, I'm sure you understand. Any takers?

I need to go and do all that procedures now, but my heart is still not settled yet. Thumping mad there. What a bad day it had been. Oh, yeah, please send me a sms to tell me your tel number again too. Please let me know who you are in it. Will be getting a replacement SIM soon. Take care of yourselves, do be careful alighting from cars, learn from my mistake.

Hope these sampah masyarakat would be wiped off from the planet one day.

Sorry to hear about this. There are a lot of these snatchers that my mom warned me when I was in KL. I really cannot fathom how the country can become so bad - seems like it turned from good to bad to worse. As long as you and your kids are fine, that's more important. Hope these buggers will rot somewhere! They can afford the motorcycle and petrol but cannot get a decent job and resort to snatching. Too many unemployed foreign workers, maybe?

Sigh..KL. Thank god u r ok, sis. Mom's been nagging too much until really come true, huh? I understand yr situation. Last time, some buggers just hop into our car to take back the car which was overdue and not paid. Some buggers from the finance company. Anyway, be VERY VERY Careful next time.

Oh no, poor you, and thankfully you and your child are unscathed! That's most important of all!

Those thugs, what were they thinking? In broad daylight, and some more outside your friend's place!

The same thing happened to my aunt in S'pore before, except the motorbike thiefs waited till dark and she was on foot!

OMG! Glad you and your kids are not hurt. My good friend in KL was telling about so many of such incidents happening to people all around her - her neighbour, her colleague, etc that when I was there last dec, I was almost paranoid. It is such a hassle when you have to go cancel credit cards. redo IC, etc. Hope they get caught soon.

Hi friends,
Thanks for your concern. I'm moving on forward now, trying to get this back of my mind.

Well, this sure taught me a lesson, unfortunately, humans don't learn until they experience it themselves. For now, it cured my itch to buy bags. I just loved bags, but safety is more important. And take whatever is needed only wherever I go. Sigh.. all the hassle.

Oh dear, I hope you are feeling ok. I think when this type of thing happened to you, you just lost the sense of security. I remember I was robbed once when walking to the bus stop near Kotaraya many years ago. 1 of the samseng actually held me by my neck! Since then I have this phobia walking around that area.

Anyway glad you are alright.

Thankfully, no one is hurt. But can imagine the kind of fear and anger you went through. What is happening to our country?

huh, bad things are happening to good people nowadays, people like you and me. such luck. let's go and "tar siu yan" together, what say you?

but seriously, i'm sure you agree that as long as the ones we love are spared the worst, nothing else matters. we will survive.

i will pray for the two suckers to be struck by lightning on a bright sunny day...

My Friday favorite time of the week

Long ago, I used to look forward to every Friday 5.30pm. I would rush to prepare dinner and settle all that was needed to be done before 4....
