Chiengmai indeed is very charming in its old city area. We spent half a day walking around there, admiring its rustic beauty with old temples, shops and streets. Wait, I think it was only I who was doing that. The rest were just walking walking walking and kept asking impatiently where we were heading and what was there to see.... arghh!!! How do you tell them a holiday is not only about theme parks, activities and fun but also on its surroundings, people, food and history? *throw hands up*
Met a friend's uncle who had kindly bought us those train tickets and sent them over to our home before our departure, to pay him back and then he drove us to this old temple ruins which was really awesome beautiful. The weather was just getting windy and cool, which was a welcomed change from the earlier hot and humid weather we were walking in. The kids finally felt happy running around in the open space.
He then drove us to chinatown and suggested a place to eat siew-yuk, which he claimed it's THE BEST SIEW YUK IN THE WORLD!!
