We went for a complete health check up finally.

Close to the end of last year, we were at a health check up, bought over from my brother inlaw's entitlement from his lotsa years' worth of a package deal.

We were told that it would take up about most of the day, and having no one to babysit the kids for us, we had no choice but to bring them along too.

Had to leave the home at 7 and god knows, getting them, all 4 of them to achieve that seems more difficult than climbing mount Kinabalu. But, we managed that feat and were one of the few early birds waiting for its doors to open at 7.30.

We were fasting since 12am and we couldn't eat till most of the tests were done, which lasted till about 10+. Fortunately, my "never take too high risks" mind, i bought buns for the kids the night before, you know, just in case? And hubs were like saying, there should be a cafe there selling food wor... And that is why I always take pride in my own judgement and make sure he knows that too!

The whole check up was pretty interesting except boring a bit, but good that we didn't have to wait too long from one examination to another. My greatest yucks would be the pap smear test and the mammogram. I had done the former about 2 months ago so no way I'm going to do another one so soon. But I couldn't run away from the latter as I knew I ought to be having one done about this time as well. Sigh, so just have to get on with it.

It was all done and over with, just slightly way before 11. Had lunch served but it was too unappetizing and I was dying to get out from there. But it wasn't over until we get to hear what the report has to say about our health and THAT wait was a little bit agonizing.

Fnally, we were ushered into the doctor's room at about 2+ and were given the green light in almost all of them, except (bleh!) the advice to cut down on the tummy fat and the high cholesterol level. We needed another of the booster shot of anti-hepatitis B thingy. Overall, my health is slightly better than hubs and he is told, as always, to exercise more to keep the cholesterol level down, else he woukd need to go on medication to treat it. Sigh, I wish he would listen and start acting on it real soon!

So, that was one thing we had done, after procrastinating for a long long time on it, and happy we are very much alive and kicking! Thats surely enough cause for celebration!

That day, we also had a case of "the story of poor little Mimi" which I would be blogging up next.

My Friday favorite time of the week

Long ago, I used to look forward to every Friday 5.30pm. I would rush to prepare dinner and settle all that was needed to be done before 4....
