Well, I suppose that is what called "in the name of fun". I tried, but I never get to overcoming that and allow them to play in my kitchen.
This afternoon, I dragged meimei into it, as she was disturbing the boys in doing their homework, and said to her "Let's do something together today". She was all excited, nonstop asking me "is it a cake? are we making a cake? what cake is it?".
One by one, I took the ingredients and sapolangchan out for our little game of masak-masak, I passed them to her, and she put it on the table. So far so good.
Then I got the right amount of flour and started sieving. She wanted to help, so reluctantly, I took her hand and both of us sieved the flour. I got irritated slightly with the flour flying out of the bowl, but I told myself "chill... chill..."
Next I cut the chunk of butter in and started mixing into the flour. She yau wanna play along! EEK!!! I can't stand it anymore. So I started nagging and complaining and nagging, and that totally shove her away. She wanted to go out to disturb her brothers again and I forbid her. So she had to stand in a corner with her eyes all welled up. Poor girl! Such a no-fun mom I was. I felt so sorry.
I just wonder why other moms can do it. You know, letting them mixing, playing, messing up the whole place, spoiling the whole cake? And then, I have to clean up after them. Ya, right, I can ask them to clean, but that would take the whole week away and I would still be cleaning up after them. So, what's the point leh? Yes, I respect these moms who can do it.
Anyway, I really did feel very sorry, after all, I was the one who raised all her excitement. So, I tried to make up to her, asked her to "how about cracking this egg up for me?". Luckily she was so forgiving and came over to me again. The rest of the time was bearable. I really ought to chill...
And btw, the cupcakes were awesome! I'm just getting better and better in making them that I would crave for them at times! *ahem*
