These weeks I am feeling so lethargic. After the long relaxing days before and after CNY for my banker, he had to travel quite occasionally for business leaving me alone at home with the 3 kids. On one hand, I feel it's good to be having a break from him, meals are simpler, house is tidier, nights are more "peaceful".. *wink*
On the other, it's very tiring running here and there all by myself, driving the kids up and down from school, and taking all 3 for their music classes. Well, there's always no best-of-both-worlds, is there?
Worse still, when korkor is getting his homework done and couldn't understand the chinese words, how do I on earth help him out in there? Well, not exactly no hope though. One night, I looked through my list of contacts and buzzed whoever was online for SOS help. It helps with the doodle IMvironment, can be fun and helpful in times like these. There are also some useful Chinese English dictionary sites but usually it is easier if the chinese word can be pinyin-ed. If all fails, sorry la, dear. I would then tell him "Tomorrow, just ask your teacher, ok?" People be mom, I be mom, I guess there's not many moms like me right now, hoh? Blek!
Apart from that, I had been staying up late "working" online, and tutoring korkor for his upcoming term test. It is so tiring that finally I just plopped on the bed yesterday night at 11pm without even bothering to switch the light off or put the laptop away from the bed. Shucks! This morning I woke up with a baggy left eye.. helppppppp!!!
Guess I really really really need to sleep earlier from now on.

Ho Lei Wud style

(Her way of continuing the award tag here must be the cutest, funniest, and most imaginative one so far. I laughed so much that I had to continue sabo her gala oxcar night in here, since she had named me as successor to the award as well, after being named by Claire and Raynebow, thanks so much!)
.. After having so much fun with the rotten eggs thrown at her (if you do not know what I'm talking about, go here and read about it, together with the comments), I had never seen so much flying eggs before, it looked like shooting stars, except the smell made the air so intolerably filthy, then again, the show must go on, I then made my way up the stairs to the stage, taking the award from her, amidst the deafening applause and the obscenity shouts of "MAKE WAY FOR HER, SHE DESERVES IT MORE THAN YOU!!!"...
(Ah.. those machais.. made me so happy indeed, it wasn't a waste of money to have them there to make me blushed, ok ok, I pay you well, don't worry, as well as Claire and Raynebow, and by the way, both your swiss account tersalah nombor laa.. gimme Mehbank account enough loh, don't kacaukacau...the only one I do not have to pay is the moongbeibei Goolypop.. haha... eh, you still stand here for what?)
Ahh... who should I thank first for this moment? Of course, I have to thank my children, korkor, didi and meimei, because, without them, I wouldn't have a title of "MOM" to my name, would I?
Then of course, my beloved hubby who not only bring bread and butter home for us while I goyang kaki at home, but also to donate the other 23 chromosomes to make up the above, without him, this wouldn't have been been a reality and only remained a dream.
My mom, who without her, there wouldn't be me too, and who had raised me up by being an exemplary BEST MOM making me one too. *ahem*
Next, my dad, because surely you know by now? Without his 23 other good quality chromosomes, I wouldn't have been what I am today.
... and I continued with the list of my dead ancestors..
HOIII! Wake up lor!
And now I'm passing this award as there are many best moms in this world and it's only appropriate to give them some due recognition and encouragement.
MY, who comes home from work and can still be the 24-hao ahma.
Irene, who breastfed her 4 children, taking pictures of it and showing them unselfishly to encourage every mom to do so too. Tabik!
Fishman, who has no heart to cage up his baby and let him roam about his home wherever he wants.
My sils who sacrificed a lot for their own respective family.
Dawn, who takes her boys out for walks even in the coldest of weather.
Yozoranitesky, who ... err... who ... err... saving a fat bank account first for her children.
Pek Imm, who is leaving a legacy for her children in short and sweet little stories.
Chris, who is homeschooling her boys and taking them on to missionary trips around Thailand.
SAHM, who's about the only soccer mom in Singapore, I heard.
Jo-N, who creates her own games for her children to play while learning.
Jacss, who spend so much time and effort to make bentos for her boys.
And of course, not forgetting, Claire, who is such tough lady for her children, and Raynebow, who let her son
Now you may bring on the bouquet of flowers *muaks muaks* I LUP YOU ALL!!!
Please... let the show go on, I go to the penthouse bikini party first, see you all there.

So so BBQ party.
I guess my friend and his wife aren't quite used to hosting any functions at their home. But being a novice in this, I would say they did quite well, preparing and seeing almost all our needs are met. Well done!
When I arrived, a BBQ pit was already fired up.
Little didi went into the house first thing and check it out before I even realised he's not around to be seen. While I was searching up and down for him, he came out and declared the house has no toys and it's booooriiiing. Surely no toys in this home as the couple is still on their 2-people's-world. Sigh.. he really has adapted this habit from his dad, checking out the place first thing.
The chicken wings courtesy from yours truly. I grilled them in the oven half cooked first before bringing it here and very soon, we were all enjoying every bit of the flesh of it. Hungry mah.
For my dear friends who read my nonsense and also the friend of this guy, here's for you! Guess you haven't met his son.. exactly like him, don't you think so? And both his parents were running after him, taking him for walks, feeding, carrying, all those stuffs which made me feel relieved I'm over and done with. Good thing.
And when the satayman arrived, all the kids happily hang around the BBQ pit, cooking it up for us to eat. Yum yum.

Aww.. I love this shot. Though it was a bit blurr, but I photoshopped it to make it sharper. OK la, hoh?
First time korkor showed some interest in the fun of this. And he made some new friends from a neighbour and they were happily mixing around. I really do not need to worry if he has enough food or what what what. The difference between now and then.
All the food inside the house, contributed by the rest and also prepared by the host. Not too much food left, which was good.
Since it's Valentine's night, and I had to hold slight responsibility for kidnapping them over here instead of enjoying a candlelight's dinner, this a little compensation for them. Mango mousse cake.. yum!
Out of the sudden, a bank called SP's hubby and asked him if he had used a credit card for RMxxx. He was surprised and shocked that he actually dropped his wallet and his credit card was fraud by someone. So, there he were, busy calling up all his banks to cancel the credit cards and going to the police station to lodge a report. No mood already.
Meanwhile, we took pictures couple by couple to signify this little Valentine's celebration in a group. It's not everyday we get together, some more on a special day like this.
Our unwillling hosts for the evening.
The culprits.
This one even worse, left her hubby and elder son at home! Woah!
First time seeing his girlfriend.
And everyone left after destroying the cake. We hang around to keep SP company till her hubby comes back. Didi likes to play with her, even asking her to come to our house laa...
And the kids were getting tired.

By 11pm, we bid farewell and thanked the hosts, only to be greeted by a crazy jam outside his home. Crazy man! 11pm and here's the traffic you get!
And how was your Valentine?

Not so good start for Valentine's Day
What do I expect anyway? After 10 years of marriage, 14 years of togetherness, this is the kind of Valentine' Day gift I get from someone who profess 101% love to me alone. What kind of gift, huh?
Early morning, I still need to get up darn early to drive my son to school. It's a replacement for CNY holiday. Those with children going to chinese schools will know. I came home and tidied up my kitchen, normal routine and boiled superdeeduper bitter leong-cha for my kids. Meimei had coughed quite badly last night. Sounds to me like an impending sore throat.
Then I went to lie down on the sofa to steal some napping time. Shucks! I hate that I can't sleep in during Saturdays. So sleepy.
The kids came out very soon and turned on the TV to watch their favorite cartoon network while leaving me alone. Real nice. Until the papa. He came out, hugged me and wished "Happy Valentine's Day". Which sounded real sweet, right? Then he had to "poot poot" 2 times fart to accompany his wish. A real turn-off, if you ask me. Sigh.. never mind la.. I chose this guy to marry, have to accept all these as package, correct?
Then, we went out for breakfast. And we have to argue over a small simple matter. It's like this. He asked me before if I would like to watch Cheng Sau Mun's concert in Genting before twice. Today, he said tonight is the Yip Sin Mun's concert in Genting. I was surprised. I said I didn't know Sally Yeh is here for a concert. He said he asked me before and I declined. I am very sure he said Cheng Sau Mun and he denied saying her name.
Aiyah.. said wrongly only mah.. what's the big deal? Can't he just say "Did I? Well, then I must have made a mistake". After all, it's only normal that sometimes we think of 1 thing and say thing 2. Right? NO! He must go and "ignite my fire" and blame me instead. He asked me why I didn't interject him and ask why want to go and watch Cheng Sau Mun woh.. Really "got-he-say, no-I-say". Sigh.. these are the things I have to put up with him. Tell me, if this is not love, why am I still putting up with him, huh? Now, don't get started that it's because of money, we don't talk about $$$ all the time, right? :D
Anyway, I told myself let's not get worked up over a small matter like this. It's such a beautiful day after all. And I have a date with few other couples tonight as well.
As a consolation for sacrificing all their celebrations and candlelight dinners with their loved ones, I bought a nice Mango mousse cake for all to share. After all, yes, it's partially my fault to initiate a potluck BBQ party at a friend's home on today, of all days. Then again, I'm pretty sure the men are thanking me in their hearts that they do not need to fork out extra expenses to treat their wives to overpriced dinner outside. Anyway, I sent out SMS to them convincing them that tonight's boring party won't be dragged too long and disrupt their late night love session. Hehe..
Happy Valentine's Day *poot poot*!!

When I was young, I'd listen to the radio.
The last trip home, I took some photos of my kampung where I grew up in. Ahhh.. those memories when passing by these places. How different everything now. If digital cameras were available then, I would have been able to capture how things were at that time. Alas, all those scenes can only be enacted in my mind only.
Now, this post would be a bit boring, but at least, you would get to know some glimpses of my childhood and my "carerful" life.. yesterday once more.
This is or used to be, Super Kinta, the "IN" place at that time. It's actually a big wet market in the center of the town, with a supermarket at the 3rd floor. When it was opened for business, I heard someone telling us that it's so big that they can't cover the whole area in 1 day! What a big joke compared to the malls we have now. Of course, I'm not talking even about KL malls. I know other cities have much bigger malls than what we have.
BUT. That's about one of the only place we shop or hang around in. And it had gave us many delightful moments. Like the time my friends and I chat at the eatery for hours with just an order of drinks. Or the "lau di fang" Yu Kim and I used to meet up at. And the pretty things SK had to offer. At least we had a place to call "home" and no need to meet up at sidewalks.
This used to be "Cafe Le Rendezvous". Iit's this place where I knew the word rendezvous. I always have the fantasy to be meeting up with some mysterious lover in that place, by how the name goes. Now it's called OLD TIMES pulak. So, I suppose we can only bring old friends for old times sake. The boss must be smart enough to know business is better that way, huh? Not sure if the owner changed hands or just a name change. But I think the last one, it was selling western cuisine too.
This place is one of the most memorable spots for me in Ipoh. Where Lido and Cathay located in, it's about the only entertainment we ever have, for a movie retreat, then to A&W. Our bus from Menglembu comes direct to this bus stop, only 50 cents a ride.
When I was less than 12 years old, I tagged along my brothers to watch movies, travelling in the buses, alone, by ourselves. My brothers do treat me very well, always holding my hand to make sure I'm safe. We just love the A&W rootbeer floats. It was about the only thing I was looking forward to everytime we went on a movie trip like this. Among all the movies we watched, I remembered only "Kramer vs. Kramer", which I had absolutely no idea what the storyline was.
When I reached the age to choose either bas sekolah or public bus, I happily chose the latter and walked to school everyday from here. God knows how far it is to MC, can someone tell me? I think it's easily more than 1km. And the buses come so infrequently, sometimes I had to wait 1 hour for the bus to arrive. I began to regret my decision to switch to public bus but it had seemed so "adult" and "cool" then, and I want to save my face so, I hang in there.. sigh..
Speaking about public buses, there were some incidents which are now forever etched in my memory. Being so young and vulnerable andattractive and innocent, I was never really worried about the pintai hamsup loes. But yes, they were lurking around all the time. My encounters include once who had flashed his thing to me, he was sitting beside me. Funny thing was, I didn't even know it was that thing. I thought why his thumb looked so k-shaped, must be sick man!
Then these pintai lo seemed to innocently sit beside me, and after awhile I could feel his hand going near to my thigh and using his fugly little finger to molest me. That was so nauseous. This fingers also some of the times come from the back seat from the side! I used to fall asleep riding on these buses after a long day at school, and once I wondered why my armpit felt so ticklish. When I checked it out, I could see the finger liu-lei-liu-hui, like a leech! I think I was so irritated that I turned around and scolded that bugger! Sickening!
After these experiences, I learned to choose the aisle seats whenever I'm alone. Better still sitting next to a woman. Then again, you know with aisle seats, sometimes those standing people comes so close that the physical contact wasn't very pleasant either. Sigh.. I'm so fortunate I need not sweat it out at public buses anymore.
Lido and Cathay served us the longest among the few cinemas we had, and now even both of them succumbed to the pressure of competition from TGV and GSC. Lido is now a restaurant while Cathay, no idea.
This lane wasn't quite popular at that time, I just thought Memory Lane sounds very appropriate but should be located somewhere else.
Ahh.. my school. The field is the venue of Sports Day for primary students, mainly telematches. As far as I recall, there wasn't an event my team won anything. What a sad thing it was. Apart from this front gate, there was a side gate where the lane is next to a nursery (one which sells flowers and plants). And a backgate which was an empty land of sands only at that time. Now it's the MBI and next to the school is Parkson. How nice if Parkson were there during our time. We would jam there everyday after school. Who cares if the bas sekolah didn't turn up, huh?

The roundabout near our school. Always pass by it after the road in front of our school was turned into a 1 way road. And I had thought it was the prettiest roundabout ever in the whole of Ipoh. It still looked the same after all these years, no changes at all, amazing.
Well, that's about so much I can remember, not so colorful, huh? One day I will story you about my stint as a maid helper. That one indeed was some brief experience I would never forget in my life.

And that's it. Back to normal days.
Past 2 days, we had been going out from brekkie in the morning till sleep time at night. Truly busy and missing my home and all our toys. Yes, we do have our toys too, both my banker and myself.
On the Saturday, after making the fried mihun for the family, I went to attend our residents' council meeting. How I ended up in it as a council member, I really have to thank my banker really really well. With all the powderful members in there, lawyers, IT experts, accountants, building developers, I seem to be the ikan bilis there. I guess they need some ikan bilis to make up the numbers some of the time.
Our dear friend and her family reached KL soon, from Kampar to depart back to their normal days in HK now that CNY is drawing to an end soon. We went over to our crazy ideas infected close friend from our USM days for lunch, and then back to their new home to have lou-sang. Guess at our age, we certainly have tone down a bit in our insanity and maybe acting more conscious as role models for our children now. Then again, it's always great to meet up with close good friends, especially when we hold so much sweet memories together before.
Time was too short to do anything else, as they had a plane to catch and so, we went home to take a dip at the pool to cool it down. The sun is attempting to skin us alive, I think. Then we had dinner outside nearby, came home and shoo the kids to bed, so that we can watch a movie again. Heard of "Smart People"? I thought it would be good with stars I know like Sarah Jessica Parker and Dennis Quaid. Jeez, don't bother for the review, I stopped watching halfway, it was dead boring.
The next day, it was a beautiful Sunday. We went out for yumcha with his brother and wife, and then I took the younger 2 to meet up 2 bloggers for lunch. It was my first time "exposing" my identity to some people I know online, but these 2 women are really quite nice people (Forced to say so cos they sometimes come and hang in around here and leave some notti comments!) hehe.. just kidding, they are really nice people, they are, they are. I'm so glad they didn't make me piss in my pants that afternoon. So kancheong actually. You know la, can't mess around with bloggers, nanti they hammer you kaukau at their blogs and the damage would be forever done. I hope I had left some good first impressions. *grin*
Stuffed myself full with the delicious nasi lemak (mm-hou-yi-see to ask for tapau ler) and a tour around her beautiful home ( I self invited to stay at her home anytime I want), we rushed back to another party (party hopping, it's the "in" thing now, huh?). It's banker's boss's home and a gambling den was already in progress. Played a funny game called "Cow" the first time. Heard of it before? We lost some 70-100 bucks that day, really the choy-san-yeh. Jeez! No fattchoy luck this year.
We stayed on to have dinner, tapau from outside and watched some fireworks display. They had a hot air lantern as well, and it was really nice to see it floating up into the air. Made me recall the Phuket trip. Then again, after awhile, we can see it coming down. Shucks! That was not a good sign, wasn't it? Aiyah.. never mind, bad thing, won't happen one, convincing ourselves. Just tell ourselves we didn't see it happening.
And that was another day over. But not before shooing the kids to bed again and watching a movie. On this night, we watched "Money No Enough 2" and it was bad. Really bad. Not very touching actually. The problem highlighted was very real indeed but to make a movie with an ending that says winning the lottery is the solution, it's sending all the wrong signals. Unrecommended - my verdict.
We had another day off on Monday, it's a long weekend. Went off to brekkie nearby, then visit a relative. It was something I told myself I wanted to do, and it felt nice to have fulfill that. And there was another thing I had wanted to do too, which we fulfilled again after that visit. That was taking the kids to visit a children's home. I told korkor that they have many angpows, and it's good to share some of their "earnings" to these underprivileged. Coincidentally, there were some good samaritans, who brought KFC and goodies bag for the 21 children there. I am trying to make this an annual tradition, so the kids will appreciate what they have right now too, but could be different homes each year.
We then came home to change into sportswear for a 2 hour badminton session with his brother and family members. I was actually dead tired by that time, but looking at the boys play for the first time, I think it is really quite a good activity to pass time for the whole family. I hope we would have the diligence to do this more often. We went for dinner straight after that, as I was starving already and came home. The sky is rumbling outside, ooh, tonight it would be a great slumber. Have to shoo them to bed now and put in another DVD to watch. What to watch tonight leh?? x-rated will be good. Hmm... G'nite! And have a nice day tomorrow liao, yoohoo! long weekend's over.

I get it cleaned for you, mommy.
Today after lunch, meimei declared she's going to make a poo while asking for my consent. I ran around getting the chores done up and down before she called out to say she's done. Both meimei and didi are still having the privilege of having their butts cleaned for them at this moment after a poo.
I went over, cleaned her butts and flushed the toilet for her. Dang! It was still so much shit sticking on the side after the flush. So while waiting for the water to refill the tank, I went away to complete my jobs, and conveniently forgot about it.
After a moment, didi went in to take a pee and he came out asking loudly "WHO SHIT TILL SO DIRTY??". I smiled and said mei mei la. His eyes gave a twinkle and he said "OK!", and ran back into the toilet with a grin on his face. My God, I thought what he was thinking, don't tell me he's going to wash it away with his hands qua??
I quickly walked over, in a faster pace to see what he's up to, and before I reach it, he already came out holding the toilet brush like the Statue of Liberty. I laughed seeing him, and still grinning widely, he ran back in. I quickly rushed over to take it over from him, and both of us were at the shitty toilet, I had to make sure my mouth was closed while still laughing.
Boy! That was so disgusting and yet amusing at the same time.

Images of CNY 2009
This will be a post of pictures and scattered anecdotes.
This would be my favorite reunion dinner dish, eaten together with minced ginger and "sar-keong". Slurp!
The other favorite, braised mushroom and sea cucumber and abalone.
All ready to attack the food. Everyone's home for the festival, including the daughter and her family. How nice for her.
I had personally really loved all the dresses I bought for my little girl this year, and made her posed for me for remembrance sake. For their comfort, most of the time, I try to get cotton and sleeveless ones for them every year. When they are comfortable and happy, I feel happy too.
You bet this fashion should be last year's (Year of the Mouse)! Cheap mah.. selling at 30% discounts at C4, buy la!
The young princess in little cheongsam. This year, her parents were so very busy that they had to take turns playing mahjong and going home about 10.30pm everyday instead of playing till way past midnight. She rules indeed!
The matching outdated fashion of Mickey Mouse for CNY. Going cheap, if there's adult size, I also want to get one for myself.
Chor Tiga - met up with the fabulous girls of Convent at Casuarina from 12.30pm-4.30pm. Pity the moms who had kids tagging along, you can imagine they were sooo busy running after them and keeping an eye on them. I, of course, was smart enough to leave the 2 monkeys back home.
Eating out is a pain in the ass. Everywhere in Ipoh - crowded and expensive. Most of the times, you need to find a table which noone is standing around to book, then self-service for your food and drink and pay almost 50% higher than the norm. We were smarter this year, we went out to look for food after 10.30am most days and the crazy crowd would have dispersed a bit. Susah cari makan la..
Chor Empat - lou sang. Meimei really loves this dress. It was funny seeing her posing like this for the first time.
I quite love eating this stuff actually, but it would be more fun to mix it up with close friends.
Our table has only 4 adults and 4 children plus a maid. So, we had too much food on our table that day.
Celebrating didi's birthday, though belated for 1 day. Never mind. Happy also.
The back of our car when we depart for our home tweet home. Pengsan anot? It took me a long time unpacking those stuffs and clearing the laundry as well. The kids certainly had fun, while I slave like an ant. *whew* glad cny is over liao!
