Please put your hand up if you had not been to KL Bird Park. OK, you may put your hand down now.
Shame on you! (if you are a Malaysian la)

Funny why many Malaysians don't feel like pong-chan their own homeland's tourist spots, but when they go to Sinjiapoh or overseas countries, they pay lots of money to visit their parks. Well, perhaps mainly Chinese think likewise, I observe many other races still flock to parks and local tourists spots. Chinese prefer to walk around in shopping malls, no sweat, cool and free aircon, better like that.

KL Bird Park is claimed to be one of the largest bird park in the world, I think. Surprisingly, when I enter, I find the environment really pleasing to the eye and mood was up a notch higher.

We went in at around 3pm, and better still, the weather was really perfect. It was a bit cloudy and cool. Without the rowdy crowd, with the vast and safe area for children to run around, many trees to block the heat, and rhythms of the gushing water in the many waterfalls there, it's really quite a good place for families to visit, and a place to hold hands, walk around aimlessly, enjoy the company of your girlfriend or boyfriend.

I suppose it could be a good place to take wedding pictures too. Sorry la, if suddenly a bird decides to bless you with some of its precious droppings on your head or your wedding gown.
Nice hairdo. Don't be jealous, k?
I think I haven't seen a real peacock in full "bloom" like this before. It sure got me excited and it was so..... beautiful. Many people were ogling and staring hard at her.

"See what see? Haven't seen a naked ostrich before meh? I come and bite you if you don't stop staring oi!"

Waterfalls are all over the place *strip and jump in now... woo hoo!*

There was a bird show at 3.30pm, it was just perfect timing. Nevertheless, the bird show was about mediocre, good enough for the children, rather boring for the adults, I think. They should be showing some birds love making scenes to cater to this category of audience, right? Aiseh, what's the fun in seeing birds saying hello, or cycling, or throwing rubbish.. sien.

These flamingos had little A amazed. I suppose he thought it was really brilliant to be standing only on one foot when I told him about that. Or poor thing, can he be thinking what happened to its other foot, somebody cut it off? Can't underestimate a child's mind, they learned a lot while seeing with their own eyes. I think that's why I rather take them to these places than to shopping malls where I just stress myself out keeping an eye on them. Over here, I felt very relaxed and happy.

There was a nursery, and oh, these little ducklings are so... cute. They look much more adorable than their counterparts. Many little chicks were running and chirping in the little cage, while being molested by these visitors.

That's this incubation with eggs and little chicks just being hatched. Ohh... isn't that really kewt?
So do you still want to eat eggs again?? I'm an all time egg favorite, so yeah, I'm still eating eggs. Had 3 today cooked in barley drink. I'm not a bird lover, chicken is my favorite meat too, by the way. You can still say I love birds, since I love to eat the chickens, eh?

These boys and girls really enjoyed themselves feeding the parrots. With RM2, you get a banana and a cup of milk to feed them. It was really quite fun. I was having fun clicking away with my camera as well.

For an instant, hubby holding the banana had 3 birds on him, 2 on his head.. haha.. he sure hoped it didn't shit on him.

Such lovely colors on its feathers.
"Hey, share share la, tuk-sek-nan-fei leh"
OH, by the way, make sure you bring your MyKad, you have to show it to get the lower ticket fare. Only fair la, right? You go main main overseas countries, you pay higher fee while their locals get discount. Now, you can enjoy your privilege here too. So, why wait, go and main main in our own bolehland as well.

"See what see? Never see a hansem turtle before meh?

Hi Gargies, I'm raising two hands, never been there.
Wow! From your description, and accompanied photos, looks like will in in my plans next balek kampong.
I remember in 2002, was in Penang, at I think Mutiara hotel, saw Canadian ducks in the little ponds there.
Bet your hubby and kids had a swell time judging from their smiles.
My time there was Mima Land, nothing else.
But here I am guilty of not visiting the many parks, too many. Only ones where can do fishing.

well, let's try to bump into each other there one fine day.
Yeah..went there donkey years ago when me and SH went pak toh. And it really makes me proud too that we are indeed paying cheaper. Just look at Menara KL. THey charge double the price. Well, thats what they do here in Thailand too.
The parrot-feeding sounds like fun! And you managed to capture that other big bird swooping down on the railing... perfect timing alright, for a nice shot =)
