Actually, we didn't realized such an existence too, until we "stumbled" upon it one day while checking out Taman Tasik Perdana. That park has a lot of other attractions, some of which we would find time to go for as well, like the Bird Park, claimed to be the largest bird park in the world, Butterfly Park, Orchid Park, Deer Park. (While driving around and me pointing out the different places here and there, Adrian asked me "how about the cockroach park?" "!!!")
The playground area is very pleasant as well, I personally like that place for strolling with the family, spending a quiet evening together.
So, it was the Planetarium Negara we went to over last weekend. Entrance fee was RM1 for adults, so so cheap... where to find?? We love it (especially KT) hehe..

The grand entrance is not for the "rakyat biasa", I think, as we had to detour to the other smaller path to the carpark and climb up the stairs to the side entrance. Lucky the children were in their excitement mode and willing to walk up the stairs. The youngest one when coming down, insisted to be carried. Sigh...
This is an effect of mirrors all over just 1 TV screen, right where we entered. It was also a pleasant change in temperature once we entered the place, from under the hot burning sun to a cool nice winter palace. Even the children has no more complaints.

They ran all over the place excitedly to check out what's in store. However, it was all so "scientific" and "high tech" that even their mom won't understand, they were happy enough to explore pushing the buttons, rolling the balls, and what else there are.
Well, at least there are some rockets and stuffs to see.
And posing for pictures. That's MY purpose.
There was this "Black Hole" in space. Didn't know the effect was this when I took the pic, until I playback. Wonder if this is what one should expect to be seeing when suddenly dropped in a "black hole"? Sorry, mind my ignorance, I'm no Stephen Hawking, not even any close, don't really have an understanding on the theory of "black hole". I do suppose that it's he who came up with that theory though.

Now, this little portion is slightly more interesting. Upon entering this little "room", I felt like the head spinning and finding it hard balancing. The picture below reads "Light water reactor ... Note that the water from the reactor runs UP the Plastic tube. To further demonstrate the gravitational distortion you may place the balls on the top of the plastic tube and note that they also move UPWARDS. Do you know why?"
To be honest, I don't know why. I asked KT, he told me it's just an illusion. Ah... "like David Copperfield, so I thought"... Heck! Do I need to admit I'm so dumb here?

Inspiring piece of art behind me. I do hope it inspires the children to learn about the space and more of the advance technology though. Then they would be rich, I would be rich...that would be great!
Later on, we went up to the tower. I was hoping to see a big telescope looking into the space, stars and planets, but heck, it was so darn disappointing. What we saw was just the KL view. Jeez... I guess that's what I should expect from a RM1 entrance fee, real doboh.

At least, we found some place to take guests to see KL bird eye's view at some cheap rate. No need to pay RM10 or so up to KL Tower to get about the same thing. It's not a crowd there as well, so, we have all the time to check out the various buildings around the area with the "free" binoculars without worrying about the children getting lost.
Be a good Malaysian like us, visit the places Malaysia, our homeplace, has to offer. :) How patriotic do I sound.
