Little guy's birthday

I just love birthdays.. as it's a good excuse to indulge in now-my-favorite cake, tiramisu.
Especially celebrating the children's birthdays. It's like celebrating another milestone achieved and his existence here on Earth as part of my very own flesh and blood.

I love the celebration to be simple. Just a family dinner with a nice cake. Later on when the children are more demanding, probably we'll treat them with a gift too, but for now, this would do.

He steals my heart most when he comes back to "manja" me 5 mins after I reprimanded him for something he had done wrongly. Like I'm still his lovey-dovey most special person in his life. hehe..

The other day I took him to a shopping mall while waiting for his dad. He wanted to poo-poo and so, I took him to the loo. It was a hard one to start his poo, and when he managed to "pushed" it out with all his strength, he said "YES! Tuck Joh!" (Meaning, "YES, I did it"). I could still smile about it when I recall that incident.

Why am I mixing poo and cake in this entry, huh? Anyway, happy birthday, little boy.

Oh no! Again??

So "wu-liao"... went to Genting.... AGAIN!

Don't know why there are always crowds of people there.

The age group of 0-3, they are not so fussy, anywhere bright, colorful, noisy and full with people, they like.

The age group of 3-12, the sight of all those rides they never managed to get their parents to buy for them, makes them go crazy enough.

For those who fall in the age group of 12-21, it's where they let out their energy shouting and yelling riding in those adrenalin pumping thrillers. It's a place where it's romantic enough to steal the girl's first kiss and hold her hand just walking around aimlessly as well. Yeah, they love this place.

Over 21, it's where all the real fun begins at the place they were prohibited to enter before..

So, there were 4 groups of people who would like to go there. My children fell into the 2nd. My mom and my husband fell into the 4th. As for myself, I'm not in any of those above. The only reason is probably.. just "wu-liao". I can't go to casino because I need to take care of the children. I am too old to ride those rides, and it's so exhaustive to run after them all the time. The only other reason could be just to "camwhoring". Is there such a word actually, I wonder?

This time round, this little chap is such a cooperative young model for me to play with. All because of a RM1.20 lollipop I bought for him... hehe. The other 2 were busy having their fun in the bumper car. For some reason only known to this little chap, he didn't want to bump the cars, he just want to hang around. I guess he knew I would surely give him some goody stuff!

I am sick and tired of the First World Indoor theme park by now. Still haven't get to splash in the wet park and go outdoors, as I mentioned in the last Genting entry. Well, it's not long we would be charging up to its hill again though. I wonder if you are sick of reading on Genting as well?

Lunch treat at "Mar-shay"

Last Sunday, we were given a special lunch treat to Marche (pronounced as "mar-shay"
It's an Italian restaurant with the "food court" concept but "sky high" prices. Well, not very high exactly, but definitely higher than the affordable, average RM3.50 per fried rice we have in normal times.

We were given each a "food card". Loss of any cards would be chargeable, RM200/card, and the money would go to a charity of your choice, as it's stated in the card. What we need to do is to walk around the area, pick the food we like, give them the card to put a "stamp", and off we go. It's just like food court, ain't so? And instead of paying cash at the respective stalls, we pay the whole lump sum at one go when we are done.

The stalls are so attractively arranged with various colors on display. I guess that's what we are partly paying for.

The dessert stall is made up of sinfully delicious goodies.. made us salivating by just looking at it.

We ordered a plate of fried rice for the children. Not a very good choice, but the children all resists to try unfamiliar food, so it's just to fill up their tummies.

It's like a marketplace, but these vegetables are arranged so much tidily and beautifully that it looks like "playthings" to me.

The dessert, but by the time we were done with the main meal, we were too full to order these.

The whole ambience is cosy and comfortable, albeit a little bit too noisy.

Little playgrounds for children to slide in and run around is mushrooming in every restaurant. It's a necessity to attract family to come and dine these days.

The "old couple" who had our tummies full to the brim.

Adrian would be eager to pose for me when he's in the mood. Guess he really "gives face" to this lucky cow which stands outside to "moo" for customers.

It's never a perfect shot with all 3 of them. It's always one looking this way, the other at opposite direction and the last trying to run away after smiling for you for 1 second.
There's an interesting flea market, but it's too tough to walk and shop with these children. Have to come another time without them.

Inside the shopping mall, people are making money by simply putting some "rides" and charge each Rm3 for a 10 min ride around the concourse area. Everything is $$$.

Quite a nice Sunday lunch for a change. Thanks, friend!

Last day of 2006 in Rabbit farm.

Happy New Year 2007! Yeah, I know, it's 16 days late. Well, can't blame me. There's just too much this year has in store for me.

Well, frankly, it was just an excuse for being lazy. What had I been doing these 2 weeks? I can't seem to remember actually, except I had been freaking busy running around here and there, feeling fatique all the time.

There is one big change in this new year though. That being the case I don't have the luxury to sleep way past 7 anymore from now on except during weekends or school holidays. It's like back to school myself, waking up to the alarm ring, and dragging myself out from the bed covers. Then, it's the routine of picking the big boy now after his school hours, weaving in and out of the traffic jam every darn afternoon.

Sometimes I have the urge to resort to BAS SEKOLAH, but seeing his delighted face when he sees me, makes all those sweat worthwhile.

I remember when I was young, I used to envy my school friends who need not wait for buses. They have their mommies waiting for them and taking them straight home. For myself, I had to wait for some longest time for the bus to come, and then, it takes more than an hour to reach home. I would be dropped dead by then. Most of the time, nonetheless, I would be sleeping in the bus, and the driver had to shake me up from my slumber.

Once, I had been "forgotten" by the bus driver and left stranded in the school until late afternoon. Poor me, everyone was gone, and I had no money to make any calls, my parents might not even realised I was still at school! Lucky there were some teachers who were still in their office, and they had been kind enough to give me some coins to make a call to my father. Lucky I remembered his office number and lucky he was still at his workplace too. I was practically sobbing when I talked to him. He came to my rescue very soon, and I was back to home sweet home, safe, sound and comfortable.

That poor driver, he was wahlup left right back front by my parents that night. I often look back on how scary it had been, how I used to hope that my parents would pick me home after school just like my privileged friends were.

So, now perhaps it's understandable why I rather take the trouble of driving them around. Seeing his happy face when he sees me as I arrive is just absolutely priceless.

We bid farewell to 2006 and welcomed 2007 by a short day trip to Bukit Tinggi. The best part of the trip was in rabbit farm, the children just can't stop running around the little farm, chasing rabbits and also, one another. They wasn't in a hurry to go home though it was way past the afternoon nap, we had to lift them off the ground to have them get into the car!

That night, we went to Chillis in Midvalley, after we discovered the "Kids eat free" with each main course ordered. The juice were bottomless, the kids menu come together with a soft drink. With all these deals, how to resist? You can't find any better deals elsewhere, I suppose. Furthermore, I just love the lamb steak. It's super dee duper yummy. Hmm.. writing it about now makes me salivating for it again.

I have also started working on my last year's resolution, drinking more calcium rich milk! Going into the "late 30's" now, I shiver when I think about the body parts failling me one after another. First the eyesight, then the white hair all over my head, next the skin texture, I don't want to be complaining about the aching bones soon. But I am sure getting fatter with all these milk intake. Now, this old friend of mine wouldn't comment I am thin anymore!

There are other resolutions in my mind. But let me work on last year's ones first!

My Friday favorite time of the week

Long ago, I used to look forward to every Friday 5.30pm. I would rush to prepare dinner and settle all that was needed to be done before 4....
