Cool air and a giant sized playground

I am pretty sure all of us had at least visited Genting once in our lifetime.
It's a place for all ages. And we had been seeing its changes from just a Genting hotel and a park to a city of dreams it is today. Similarly, at different stages in my life, somehow Genting played a part in it too like it had been growing together with me.

When I was a child, I can still remember how excited we used to be going there. With just some simple rides and paddle boats available at that time, it was more of a memorable togetherness for a family holiday. Nothing much we can do then, most of the time we strolled around in the cool atmosphere, take pictures, and just simply to feel the cool fresh air around us. I remember how I used to paddle the boat with the big wheels with my dad. He's my hero, I had never been afraid of falling into the lake or get stuck in the middle of it.

The other memorable holiday I had there was after our big exam in my life. Till date, I still have nightmares about exams after this major hurdle. You can imagine how stressful I was the whole year preparing for it, and how relieved I felt when it was over. We went in a group of close friends I never could have imagined having. Though the year was tough, I had a lot of fun too with this bunch of people. How daring I was at that time to have rode in those coaster rides and spinning I-don't-even-know-what-it-was-called. Give me a treat to ride one now, I will immediately turn into David Copperfield and vanish into thin air!

Nothing could have beaten that time I went with my uni friends on the first year's break. I laughed and enjoyed so much that every minute spent was pure delight and joy. We cooked and ate in the apartment we rented, played card games while joked and laughed until our sides ached, played bowling, went partying in the hangout there, danced and secretly wishing to have a slow dance with the guy I liked (yes, the wish came true.. hehe), and maybe, just maybe, pretended we were over 21 and sneaked into the casino for the first time. I think it had been my best trip to that place.

Well, later I started dating. And our first getaway together was in Genting too. After seeing couples holding hands walking around aimlessly and lovingly countless times for years, I finally was there to turn the table around and ... let people see! It wasn't as romantic as I thought, maybe he wasn't so much of a romantic guy. But it was for the first time for me going into that gala show inclusive of a dinner. Quite an impressive move to make me feel touched. And of course, I had to *pay* for it later in the night... in a different way.. there's no free lunch in this world. (well, well, don't think wrongly, it's not as what you think.. we were decent people here). Anyway, I married this guy years later.

Well, there's numerous other times I was up in that little hill. Going to the concerts of the late Anita Mui with my mom, listening to Air supply rendering their songs (where I know all the lyrics) with my big belly in my first pregnancy, so called work related trips... There's been some great enjoyments and disappointments, and I think we still will be going there, maybe more to "donate" money out, and to bring the children for a substitute of a holiday trip to the cooler countries. It's not cheap having a holiday there anymore. A pass for a day use of the indoor theme park costs a bomb now. Where have all the free parks where we can just stroll around enjoying the cool fresh air gone to? Sometimes I really miss those days.

It's true the global weather is warmer now. There's no need for us to wear any sweaters there anymore. Anyhow, we still force our children to wear theirs, for fear of them catching a cold home.

This is the closest I will go to with rides and things which spin and moves. I wonder what happens later when they grow up and want me to accompany them to daredevil rides. It may be a good way to murder me without raising any suspicions.

It's best to go in a group of people, as the more the merrier. That's what happens after the stage of dating la.

Silence is golden..

Such a long break from blogging..

This golden silence would be appreciated because right now, I just want to *censored**censored**censored**censored**censored*!!!!

Why?? Because my temp maid is gone, the maid I am supposed to have had ran away (before she even got here!), so I am left with no choice but to slave like a servant at HIS MAJESTY's feet again.

Well then, it was not all that I did though. We also went for short trips to Uncle Lim's cool resort, and of course, contributing to his wealth; tested the East Highway all the way to Kuantan, embracing another all-important role for some Form One'rs which not only engaged all my Friday nights up till end of this year, but also making me distortedly busy the whole week preparing for these Friday nights. That, I will explain much later..

HM (His Majesty) is on a career break for this whole month long. Sounds good for me too, I can kick his butts to share my babysitting chores a bit. It's not everyday that you can kick a royalty's butts, yes I know, that's not what I am supposed to do, but I am damn so exhausted at the end of each day, I just can't help it.

He being around aimlessly each day would pester me to take him for a walk around the nearby shopping mall as well, which contributes to my already hectic schedule. Can you imagine we were just in C4 yesterday getting milk powder, today we were there again to get soap and hair gel? Jeez... I surely wouldn't complain if he says "honey, the jewellery shop is on sale, let's go there and allow me to get you a gift..." Well, dream on....

I don't even have the time to watch the new serials Astro is showing now. Not even when Astro do reruns twice a day. Gosh!! What do I do all day, you must be wondering...

Cooking, Chauffeuring, Laundry-ing, Cleaning, Ironing, Settling disputes.. sounds boarrrrrrring already, huh?

Well, hoping things would turn around soon. And back to business by then.

Discovering an ocean of discovery

It was a fine day for a family outing. The perfect setting and mood to go discover what Aquaria has to offer. Waiting for anticipation for Ah Yi to come and pick us up early in the morning.

Great shot with KLCC as backdrop, isn't it so?

This the place we were checking out that fine day.

It's not opened yet! Though we received news it would be opened at 10am, the notice, without any notice, noticed us it's opening at 11am. As we wanted to make full use of our money we are going to pay for it, we decided to start embarking on our journey of discovery after lunch. Furthermore, the queue was freakin long, mostly with students of little ones to teens. It was very crowded in the constraint space of the basement. So, we walked through the long few kms tunnel to KLCC. The kids were still excited with joy, so no complaints so far.

Visited the children's toilet in a shopping mall, they were fascinated with the tiny sizes of everything in there.

It would be good to have one of this at home...
All dolled up to invite attention from the public. Waiting in demure to go inside the ocean now.
Ah, here we were...finally! After months of talk about it, we were here to check the place out. Be aware that no food and drinks are allowed inside, and you are not allowed to re-enter after you came out from the aquaria. I realised that there's no loo in there as well, so, before you enter, make sure you won't be hungry for the next 1 hour (or more if you intend to spend more time) and flush out all your "waste" before you go in.

These lights are enough to entertain the little ones. So difficult to convince them to move on.

A pool of different fishes and a big turtle (if you observe carefully at the middle top of the picture)

Someone was really fascinated about this whole thing. That one little turtle is a real good swimmer indeed!
This touch pool is the favorite hanging spot for this baby girl. Clearly the guts of one little girl is more than the guts combined for 2 boys.
The main attraction of the place.. underwater world.. tunnel of discovery. Anticipating the oohs and aahs from the children, what a letdown. One was intrigued of the travelator, the other was like fearful the sharks would escape and eat him up, the youngest one was blurr like a sotong. One good way, or so we thought, to make the entrance fee worthy was to go a few rounds on this. We made 3 trips, interesting, huh? But basically, we went round and round to make ourselves feel better only.

A nice close up encounter with the sharks. Pity them though. Imagine someone waves your favorite food right under your nose and when you want to have it, damn! you knock on the glass panel!

This is what I called a cool aquarium to have at home.

All in all, a good family outing venue indeed. But if you have been to one aquaria, you've been to all. Don't waste your money going in for a 2nd time, even if you are in another country, unless you are freakin fascinated about life in the ocean and you can't dive. The best thing to get the money worthy is to read all the names and descriptions of the fishes there. And know how to differentiate them too, for all I know, the fishes almost look identical to me, only the difference might be the sizes.

It was a great day, if it hadn't been for the blardy @#$%& idiot who "stole" my brand new books I bought from this K bookshop, blardy expensive books they are. I put the bag of books on the table while I went buying lunch, and after lunch, I realised it was GONE!!! VANISHED!!! Why somebody would be so greedy to make such robbery? Would had been glad if he/she asked me for money, I'll be so willing to contribute as a generous donation to this pathetic idiot.Sigh.. Pardon me...

Anyway, it's a fact... don't go shopping with children. Either you lose your shopping bags or you lose the children.

It pays to buy good goggles

As a wise consumer, I do what normal people do, compare prices and features, examine the level of different functionality of the item I need, and evaluate my budget constraint.

When we moved into this place with a swimming pool, I was excited with the prospects of doing daily swimming exercises without the fuss and hassle of travelling far and beyond.

So, later, I equipped myself with a nice looking swimsuit (sexy? I hear you ask... ) and of course, a pair of goggles to go with it, else it would be tough to swim laps with burning eyes from the chlorine-rich water.

Off I went looking for a pair of nice looking and sexy goggles to go with my swimsuit. A wide range of the item was in display, I was really spoilt for choice. If I had too much money with nowhere to spend, I didn't have to spend some good 30 mins looking carefully into the details of the different brands available. How nice if I can just grab the most expensive one and get on with the swimming exercise immediately.

Of course, I am not that fortunate. I decided I would at least need anti-fog feature, and selected the cheapest one available with the anti-fog, and the least I can expect my money was worth spending was to choose a cool color of the goggles to, undoubtedly, look cool.

So, there I go, happy with my purchase, and even happier when the first time I used it was a no letdown of the anti-fog. It was clear vision throughout my few hundreds laps.

Slowly, I realised, the anti-fog was not functioning properly. I can't throw it away just like that, can I? As it still looks good. So, I had to make do with the "weakness".

One fine day...

I went swimming with hubby. Some other people were around enjoying the pleasure of the pool, just like us. My hubby was right in front of me, and a few more laps, I could see from the other end that he was sitting on the edge of the pool resting. I swam to his side, and said "Never realised you have big boobs before", and turned over to swim back for another lap. I realised later he wasn't my hubby, who was that? I never swim back to find out. Now, how's that for a pick up line?

So, as the story goes, it certainly pays to get good goggles with reliable anti-fogging feature. Unless you don't mind being perceived as one ham-sap pervert though.

My Friday favorite time of the week

Long ago, I used to look forward to every Friday 5.30pm. I would rush to prepare dinner and settle all that was needed to be done before 4....
