What do you know? If you had made yourself wet from top to toe having a funfilled day at the Sunway Lagoon, the management don't expect you to mind being dripped from top to toe either when you came out from the shower, smelling dry and clean only to find the whole place pouring.
Really...*shake shake head*.... why don't they build a good covered walkway from the shower room to the entrance of Sunway Pyramid where the carpark is lcoated, especially when the place is frequented by children? Why they spent so much building the escalator up till Pyramid Tower and purposefully left some areas uncovered? Like they are very uneager to make their customers most satisfied and happy.
Even they wanted to save on those costs, at least give some helping hand like providing some umbrellas..
Such a far cry from being high class resort.
Sigh.. well, that aside, it made a real funday for the children, experiencing roller coaster for the first time and riding on a boat, falling down from a high peak splashing the water down below.
The 500m canopy walk was quite interesting too, I was shaking holding on tightly to little son's hand, I don't know if his hand was my comfort or mine his. Halfway through, some guys who looked lke from Middle east asked us to take our picture with them. I was badly shaken to decline their invitation, while hubby and daughter already were 100m in the front. Lucky they didn't "pok mong" me, else I really don't know how to defend myself while protecting the little ones up high there way up above the ground.*whew*
Seeing those exciting thrillers rides, sorryla, I have not guts to dare myself to try at all. Even those mini-ones like little airplanes going round and round, up and down, I was partially shaking. Hubby frantically tell me to use the lever to make it go up up up (like I don't know), but I kept telling him no, no, no.
It's so easy for him to murder me if he wants to.
I would have enjoyed myself snapping pictures away but my camera went for a holiday to Beijing. What a pity. It's back home now, oh how I missed it.
Sunway Lagoon, for the 2nd time, wet again after shower going back to the carpark.

Me the failed mom.
I always believed "spare the rod, spoil the child". My mom had always been stern when it came to discipline, but she had added lots of love and care too while my brothers and I were well behaved.
As such, the cane is one essential discipline tool in my child disciplinary program.
But now I realised, what Jo-N says here about the negative effects of using the cane is apparently very true. She says "Now, I understand that by showing anger myself and by scolding and spanking, I am actually teaching my children that they too could scold and beat their brother and sister when something does not sit right with them"
My 1st son, I observed, had been yelling at his little brother and sister more often when things are in the way for him. Ironically, I saw myself in him when he yelled at them.
Then, lately, my 2nd son's teacher told me he had been playing very "roughly" with his peers, pulling their hair, beating them and even biting them. Jeez, that was rather terribly awful feeling when his teacher told me about his progress. I felt I was the failed and badly performed mother, who hadn't used the right approach in bringing them up and the one to be blamed instead.
Parenting is really such a skillful and complicated art. Sometimes I would think children are children, they are perfectly normal when they run or fight or create some mischief.
Discipline and use the "stick" while not teaching them to be violent bullies. Love and use the "carrot" while not spoiling them to ends. Giving freedom while guiding them to use it wisely and smartly. Protecting them while instilling independence and cognitive thinking. Whoosh! Can someone take over these roles while I just play and sayang them?
Sigh! No way out. I have to keep on learning to become a better parent myself. Though it's harder than working on anything else (much much harder) and needs a lot of effort and time, I am sure its more rewarding than anything else. I'm looking forward for that moment.

Joke which made me laughed today.
Man comes home, finds his wife with his friend in bed.
He shoots his friend to death.
Wife says "If you behave like this, you will lose ALL your friends".

Lake Gardens/ Taman Tasik Perdana
I wonder how many of the KL folks here really know where this place is.
It's just right beside the Mahameru highway, which links Seremban Highway to Jalan Duta (I think). Going in seems to be the bit tricky part. Its entrance/ exit points are located somewhere near the old Parliament building and around the railway station. I will be stressing my brain cells trying to explain where exactly they are, so please go figure!
What I'm trying so hard to say is, this place is really a gem of the gems. It's good for family get-togethers, couples to pak-tor, joggers to sweat it out, cyclists and skaters, dan lain lain..
During the weekends, it would be either the pool or this children's haven for us. I know the KLCC park boasts of a better environment than this, but hey, over here, parking is FREE, okay?
Not only this, the management runs a little "buggy ride" sort (what's that thing called, can someone please tell me?) which trails almost the whole park, introducing the various interesting sites there, like Bird Park, Deers Park, Orchid Park, Planetarium, among others.
It's dirt cheap to take a windy ride on that "thing", 50 cents for adults and 20 cents for children. Why, isn't that so much better than to put 2x50 cents on those silly rides which only rocks to and fro at one blardy place?
When I passed by this field (above), I would always visualize having a picnic there with a bunch of good buddies and dozens of all our children running around. The activities would be like..
1. fly kite la..
2. play football la..
3. play badminton la...
4. plsy frisbies la...
5. play kong-kwan la..
6. play catch la..
7. and eat and gossip and laugh...
Oh... what a wonderfully fun time that would be...
The children would have a good whale of a time too exploring these magical playgrounds. Why pay so much at MegaKidz when you can get almost the same thing here for free?
It looks exciting not only for the children, but for adults too (I think) because when I see the place, I feel like a kid again too. EVERY SINGLE TIME.
But it could be a bit tiring to chase after them as they could go on and on and on, without feeling exhausted, don't know why. We have to lift them off the ground to get them to the car, while they struggle so hard to break free and dash back to the playground. But so far so good, no untoward scenes were created in those events.
Last Sunday, I was there for a different reason though. And with different company. I had JM to accompany me early in the morning for this run.
As anticipated, parking were chaotic, and people from all walks of life came to support this event. It's nice to see babies and children participating too.
Before it started, there was some warming up sessions with fitness instructors which was quite entertaining. Then, there was this competition to hear who cheered the loudest from the crowd.
And out of the sudden, I saw a familiar face. I couldn't be sure if it was him, as I wasn't quite expecting, err..., this horizontal measurement of his stats, but when he got closer, it became quite obvious yes, it's him alright.

Hi, Kenny! Wanted to say hi to him, but he seemed pretty occupied walking around, taking pictures, carrying his professional blogger role so well. JM thought I'm a great fan of him, so to set it straight here, yes, I like his blog a lot, but Chilam still remains my no.1 idol, ok? (JM, you have no idea what I'm going to do if I do see Chilam in person! Hahaha)

We joined the whole entourage for half the run, cutting it short halfway through, and what did I get from the hard day's work? Pain knees and legs.
Go and make use of the Lake Gardens well, hope to see you there sometime.

Freebies pack
Any of you went to Midvalley 3rd floor any of these days: 30 oct to 4th nov? There was this exhibition going on from those dates...
I am not going to elaborate what the exhibition was about, don't worry. It seemed to me like a bankers gathering.
I never liked going for exhibitions, especially with all these 3 in tow (unless of coz those women-related stuffs). How to stroll and watch what the exhibits are when they roam around? Definitely a nightmare! I prefer to stay at home and surf the net.
But this particular one, I was summoned urgently by my dh not later after we went different directions, he to see what the exhibition was about while I, on the way to get some shopping done. He sounded like I MUST go up, no excuses I normally use would be accepted. Wokay... I won't want to later get bashed for nothing, so I obliged.
Filled up forms, dh voluntarily answered a "quiz" and we followed obediently to the booth at the end for a pack of freebies.
Inside were a white t-shirt, a notepad with calculator (can be handy at times), and the one he was looking at, a RM20 voucher redeemable at MPH bookstores valid for 3 months! As there were 4 adults (+ my parents who were with us that fateful day), we had a whooping total value of RM80 MPH vouchers. (No, we are not cheapskates, we were helping the poor fellas there to quickly distribute their freebies pack so they can fast fast go home)
So, I can't complain much about the hassle and I had to keep silent when he lectured me on cases where there are abundant freebies everywhere!
Yeah, he's one guy who just loves to dig up freebies like that. Sometimes you just got to love him and hate him at the same time.

Concert day
This must be a huge event.. judging from the highly enthusiastic journalists covering it.
Well, huge it was, but certainly restricted to the opinions to the parents of these children. Don't ask why, when you become a parent, you would soon do the same thing. Finding the best spot for the best view and holding it in the best positioning to get the best shot even if it meant straining your arms for a good 10 mins or so.. This is parenthood.
It started off pretty dull in the beginning (as expected) with those speeches and awards presentation ceremony. Everyone was yawning and falling asleep, well, maybe not quite, but at the very least, lazing back on the comfy sofa trying to take some rest before the show began. That was when the crowd slowly spilled to the front to take video clips/pictures of their precious darlings dancing on the stage.
The girls really have nice outfit to take home. I was telling my mom how unfair it was. All of us have to pay the same amount for the concert attire to the school, and what do we get? The boys take shirts or pyjamas lookalike home while the girls have party frocks they can wear to dinners or special occasions.
So cute. And so pretty. Made all the parents in the hall beaming with pride. I was one of them too, no doubt. Seeing him dancing on stage, I was smiling from ear to ear. The videoclip was replayed numerous times, but I still had not get enough of it.
But at the end when everyone came out for the last "show", he looked a bit "stoned" though. Don't know why.
Was it because of
1. the crowd (which seemed scary?) or
2. he still have no freaking idea what was going on, or
3. the teacher just gave him a scolding or
4. (I realized later) the makeup on his face?? Haha.. he kept telling me he had lipsticks on his lips after it was over.
I kept asking him, but he was dumbfounded.
Nevertheless, after it was over, he found a yellow balloon and he was back in his usual self again. For a sudden change, I thought he looked smartly different from the normal days. Oh, what a proud and contented mom I was that night.
