Of fever and lausai in the car.

There's just no escaping. The flu bug hops from one to another, from the eldest to the middle to the youngest. It's not so stressed as when they were younger, probably I'm now more a "seasoned nurse" than just a beginner.

I find that both koko and meimei have a lot of similarities, even in terms of their behavior when they fall sick. Both are more clingy, more manja, more difficult. Didi really has his own characteristics and personality. He just lies down on the bed or wherever you tell him to, and would make no fuss. Except when feeding, he would throw back all out if food is given when he's unwell. So, I had to do so in less quantity and more frequency. Sigh.. he seems to look skinnier and skinnier, my inlaws do think I am not feeding them well enough.

Wa see wa, about old folks, they do jump and fuss round the kids when they are sick. Yeah, I'm sure it hurts them like hell, so was I, but it do get pretty annoying when they overdo it. And stressing me even more at times like this. And they tend to provide the advice to feed them with paracetamol even when they have no fever! So that the fever won't come back! Duh!

I used to just "try" and educate my mom that it's not the right way to deal with drugs. But with the inlaws, I just nod my head and quickly cabut. It's really better to be home and away from all of these.

Yesterday, I had to drag meimei along to market as I have to do some marketing. We had wanton mee for breakfast and everything went on fine, it was just a couple of things I need to get and didn't spend much time lingering around. When we were about to go, she told me tearfully that her tummy aches badly and need to go to loo. You know pasat toilets.. can enter?

Nah.. I told her to hang on and I desperately try to get us home as fast as I can. I think the urge subsided a bit then, but halfway, she was in tears again, and hanging on so tightly trying so hard not to lau-sai in her pants and in the car. I really thought she did when the air suddenly became so stenched. Well, what to do? I braved myself for the worst, if she had to, I would just have a lot of "dirt" to clean. Lucky we got on home and she hang on till the butts sat on the toilet bowl. What an emergency! And such a brave girl! Bravo!

I think tomorrow, everyone will be fine again. Keeping fingers crossed.

Back home for Qing Ming

Weirdly, koko was fine and active all along, right up till Friday afternoon, less than 24 hours away from our filial duty to get together and clean up the ancestors' graves. Feverish all over and started complaining of headache. When we reached home, took him to see a doctor and he said it's just the flu bug, runny nose totally caused a blockage and headache. Gave some prescription of antibiotics, fever and flu med.

I took that as a sign from his great grandparents. So, he stayed at home with meimei while didi went along as representative.

Lucky there wasn't much cleaning up to do and we got it over and done with without much hassle, but the weather was darn hot.

Our mission completed, we then went to collect our pictures from the digital studio and paid the balance. Quite satisfied with them and it will be displayed over here over time. Already can't wait to use one up to be used in my blog header. The rest of the time, we just laid back and eat, eat, eat.

April Fool prank?

Hello, everybody, today is the day for fools, I sure hope what happened to my hubby was just a big joke.

Well, the day started like the usual, bla bla bla.. then! I turned on my Wii for yoga session, it said

How cannnn? I was fooled by my own Wii for a moment before it said "just kidding..." Dang! suen mm suen I throw you off my balcony, huh?

Later, hubby suddenly called me and asked me about our home's postcode, then he said he was at the police station, he just met a snatch thief. And that's it! He said he was busy and call later to tell the whole story.

Of course, my heart lor lor luen.. thinking "what happened? what was robbed? Is he hurt? the car? hanfon? ah, no hanfon should be ok, since I just talked to him.. so, what what what??"

Then I can't contain my curiosity anymore and called him again. He said it's like dis..

He was outside his office, just going out to meet customer, talking on his boss' fon while walking. Then suddenly the snatch thief came fr behind and snatched his fon away. Then the bugger got knocked down by a car while trying to make his escape, he gave chase, kept yelling and chasing and the bugger was caught. Yay! Happy!

Then he came back and realized his laptop bag gone! Missing! With his laptop, and all his things in it.

Now.. this is very serious case wei.. all the porn pics of us.. *gasp* leaking! leaking! leaked! BOCOR! now, tan lei tan hui.. thinking what to do. Asked for the porn queen, Goolymama for her advice over MSN, she said "chap toe la lei"..

Guess I will have to get used to being femes soon. Na, you want autograph, you better ask now, later I have no time to layan you all ah..

Hope it serves as a good lesson for him and for all to be extra careful these days. The preacher of "Law of Attraction" has just met a real-life snatch thief. I'm so happy it's not his child who got missing.

The mata-mata apparently gave my hub's fon nombor to the family of the bugger and the bugger's hamka started to call my hub to plead him let him go by not suing him. Said his wife's pregnant la, he's already very "siong" lying in the hospital after being beaten up la, bla bla bla. So, should my hub let him go? He's indecisive. What do you think?

When he is just a little boy..

There is a theory that goes like this....(according to me)

If a little child is curious or likes to jing-ku people or likes to discover new things, he'll most of the time get caught by the teacher/ disciplinarian and get punished or admonished, BUT he'll go very far when he grows up.

On the contrary, for a boy who just sits around, follows instructions, obey rules and regulations, surely teachers all lurvs him, as he's giving them less headache, but we all know, honesty is not totally the best policy. Like the saying in chinese goes "joong joong jek jek..."

And why I'm pointing this out? Because I want to remind myself as...

Today, didi did it again! The teacher told me he used his finger and point very very closely to another boy's eye and oops! too bad, he got caught by the teacher. The teacher dragged him to the principal and they asked him why he did it. He said "but he ought to close his eye"!!

I suppose he was experimenting eye reflexology ke? Honestly, I do not know if he ought to be admonished or not, as something must be going in his mind (like finding out if he really will go blind??), but I understand, teachers want to avoid any mishaps and confrontations later on.

Anyway, he had to missed a week's of computer lesson and PE to hang round with the principal. I sure hope he thinks it's all worth it. And I'm keeping my fingers crossed the theory above is true.

Sigh.. and he's not even started schooling yet! What's next??!!

Over the weekend in brief.

• Had a good hi-tea in a Sheraton KL. Totally blown away by its carrot cake, and now, I'm searching high and low for its recipe. Yummy! Had we gone in separate cars instead, it would have been perfect!
  
• After stuffing and stuffing till 4pm, dinner was just rojak and milo.
• Watched "The Inconvenient Truth", so apt in conjunction with Earth Hour and all the propaganda on global warming. Have you seen it? If not, it's a recommended watch, I was surprised it was better than I expected it to be.
  
• We observed Earth Hour, but played Wii and fan was on. Not my fault, scold the males!
• Didi finally get won over by Wii, apparently papa finds it very annoying some friend's kids who's at the same age are already playing all sorts of computer games, PS2 and phone games. Kiasu indeed, I agree! So, there we were, coaxing him to try it (what kind of parents?!), and now, all 5 of us are fighting for the Wii remotes. That's indeed "Fun"!
• What do you do when you hold a RM50 voucher for MPH which had expired? I'm not gonna tell you what we did, but we brought home some dictionaries for korkor (chinese), and some workbooks for all of them.
• Papa seemed to be angry with me for making him "fly planes" when I didn't want to join him to go up some "Little Genting" place to see KLCC do the disappearing act.
• Slept 10 hours from 10.30 to 8 on a SATURDAY! That's quite a feat for me, considering it's a "movie night" and for 10 hours straight. I woke up on Sunday feeling refreshed and radiant (self denial, yes, BUT certainly a good way to encourage myself to stop denying sleep)
• Koko showed me his teacher's remarks in the Buku Catatan to ask me get him a haircut, on Sunday evening, right before bedtime! I quickly took out my scissors and comb and completed the task within a short time. Those "training" had been very good for me indeed. Ahh.. there he is, looking so handsome. So satisfied with my "skill" now. (I wonder at what age he'll start demanding for a haircut with a proper trained person? hehehe...)

And this weekend, it's time to visit our ancestors, say hello to them, requests them to bless the children, grandchildren, also suen-pin gives us lots of luck to prosper and have the health to enjoy it. Not very greedy also la, hoh?

And we might as well ask them to take care of our mother nature too, since we are burning all those paper and dump just so they can have the money, house, car, maid etc so they can have a good life "there" while we sacrifice our own living space for them.
