Lovely couple shots
For my friends who knew her, check this out.. very lovely couple shots by her photographer brother. Anyone here who doesn't like to be self-model and take photographs like these? I love and admire this kind of art a lot, especially with radiant and bright smiles all over the place. It's good medicine for me when I am down with the blues.

Congratulations...
A new family addition... little Ms. Emily, much awaited baby of my husband's sister and hubby.
I'm also upgraded to "Jiew Mu" or "Kham Mou".
Ang koo-koo.. call me jiew mu, I give you 3 big cousins to play with.. :D
Ahh.. looking at cute babies like this, so small and lovely, makes me wanna make one too myself and play with all day again. But think twice, all those long nights without sleep and non-stop crying, better not.
Congratulations to PT and hubby.

Weekend with one of my best gifrfriend
I have many best friends, girlfriends.
One of them is this girl, whom I have been so close with since Form 6. We were in the same class and we had loads and loads of laughter and fun.
After which, we went our separate ways or so we thought. How purely delighted I was when I saw her in the campus after 2 weeks of the beginning of the semester, she was accepted in albeit a bit later than me and we were in the same course and same dorm. Later, we moved out, to be roommates as well.
As with all relationships and friendships, we were like the best of friends, and yet had our arguments and dislikes for each other. Like frenemies. Not easy, but I had always liked to have her around as she's always have this gift to crack jokes at the most unusual way and her laughter is just so contagious and lights up the days.
She married much later than most of us and we were all so happy to be at her wedding, all of us thinking "luckybitch! girl, no-sound-no-sound grab such a handsome husband out of sudden". She was such a beautiful, radiant, and need I say, voluptuous bride that day.
All these years, though we meet up less, as, as usual, everyone busy with own lives, families and work, friends really do come 2nd priority already (maybe even 3rd or 4th or 5th...), but as I've mentioned somewhere, friendships made from the schoolyears are very much specially different from those made later. Wonder why? Is that because we have too many childhood sweet memories to bond us so tightly together?
We meet up like sometimes once or twice a year, and the contacts were much lesser. One good thing is that both of us hail from Ipoh and we still meet up every CNY there.
Out of nowhere, this girl suddenly sms me on a lazy Sat morning to say she's on the way to KL and wondered if I have time for her? What? Any time for her? I'll drop any plans I have to see her!
So, we had lunch with a few other crazy friends, and it seemed to me that time had transported me back to those fun studying days. It was so good and enjoyable. Even my mom said, when these few of us get together, jokes, teasings and crazy things flow freely.
Her brother came too, and boy, how grown up he is now! When I frequent her house when we were young, he was just a little 4 feet 10+ year old boy! Oh yeah, I go to her house so often, and I loved her mom. It was a very sad time when she passed away some years ago. Her family is so closely knitted, it was a very devastating blow to the whole family.

Hey, friends, she went to Japan just a few months ago, and the pictures are here. Boy, I'm sure jeles when I see those mushy loving shots of this couple. So blissed and happy. I feel glad for her la.
Back to the weekend, after lunch, we went window-shopping, and proceeded with a movie. Her husband said "no way we would queue up for 30 mins like this to watch a show in Ipoh". But her husband is so sweet, he went ahead mainly because I want to watch! Aww... I finally saw Incredible Hulk, before GSC strike it away from their 2 shows-a-day slots.
It was fun. We finally knew why his pants never get torn. I wondered aloud why it's always a man, if it's a female Incredible Hulk, her boobs will be woah.. to which my friend replied, if that's the case, the top part will be the one which won't get torn instead. haha.. right.
After movie, we went for a seafood dinner, and I had insisted that they come over to my place to stay for the night. All in all, it was another friends-get-together weekend, and almost a cycle, I'm so tired out right now! Back to the weekdays to recharge!

Graduation day, like part of her family.
Her brother, Zach, now is working as a freelance wedding photographer, and his work is displayed in his own website zachchin.com. So, people, if you want a photographer, maybe you might like to consider him, eh?Hey, friends, she went to Japan just a few months ago, and the pictures are here. High flying dream
Wee early hours of the morning, I dreamt I was chauffeured in a private plane by my husband. We were on way to an exotic destination for holiday. The inside of the plane looks exactly like the inside of our car. Little girl was seated in front while I was at the back with the 2 boys. It's exactly the car we have in real life, but just that this one, it can fly! Aiks, so nice.
We were hovering very close to the earth, I was admiring the beautiful view of the terrains, river and the rainbow in the sky, pointing it out to my eldest son, telling him excitedly to look at it. Truly awesome. Meanwhile, I thought we were going to crash anytime too, but who cares, I was flying high and most importantly, all 5 of us are together, if we were to crash, we go to heaven together (choi! choi! choi!)
The flight supposedly take about 4 to 5 hours, but it was only 1 hour passed. I couldn't wait to land and holiday at our destination.
Then, the alarm rang and I was shook back to real life. Damn! Real spoiler. What a sweet dream that was, hate hate hate the alarm. Wanted to get back to sleep and back to that scene, but you know with dreams, once you are back to reality, poof! no way you can go back to the same scene.
Sigh! I don't think I will have that privilege to fly like that in real, at least let me enjoy for a little while more in my dream... any dream interpreters here?

Old schoolgirls meet
Last Friday I met up with some of the people I have not seen in years. There were Debbie (met her about 10 years ago during the last reunion), Susan Beh (some 20 years ago, I think), Mandy (haven't really talked to her even during the school years), Kan Siew Fun (omigosh! she looks EXACTLY the same girl over 20 years ago and we were so close that time, completely lost touch after Form 5) and the rest whom I do meet on and off, Caroline, Beatrice and Mei Chui.
Weirdly enough, though we haven't really kept in touch for those long 20, that's TWENTY = 240 months, which is equivalent to about 7200 days, we had so much fun and non-stop chatter throughout the night like these long lapse of time didn't even take place at all. Like back to giggling schoolgirls, except our topics ranged more to children, hubbies, inlaws, sex...
Still, it's rather amazing. At least to me. There are people whom you might see on a day to day basis, there's this "wall" and you just can't come close together. And magically, there seems to be "no barrier" with these people who played a part somehow in the childhood years.
While we were reminiscing on some of those memories, Susan commented who and who were in the same class from kindy. Yeah, I am one of them. So, that made up 30 years when our paths started to cross. Not a big deal to you, but a mega-big one for me. Well, I'm just emotional, I know. But really, how rare is that to know someone since you were 6?

Skip this boring part...
People on the photo whom I know:
Grace Chen, Foo Pei Pei, Foong Siew Mun, Lyndy Yee, Sharmini, Tan Li Ming, Lam Sook Peng, Marion Chan, Karen, Kok Pik San, Winnie Boey...
For those boys.. really no idea who they are.
This picture is priceless, I tell ya!

More tension than facing STPM
After the happy weekend, birthday wishes, presents, cakes and party over, my week is swarmed with surprises one after another from him.
First, Mon evening, I found out he had performed badly in some small tests in class. His classmate, whom he had invited over to the birthday party earlier, poked his back by using his mom's handphone to call me and tell me about it!Traitor! I went to ask him if he has anything to show me and he tried lying to me there's none. But of course, after awhile, he admitted, and I warned him to be honest and face problems like this like a real man.
The chop in his exercise book read "Please see to your child's homework and sign here". If a child gets a chop like this in his books, it's not really a good thing, you know. So, that evening, dad grilled him till he cried.
Then, the next day, I watched over his shoulder while he was doing his homework and when he knew that I was behind, he used his small hands to cover his sheet of paper. Aiyoh, son ah son, like that, I sure can smell something fishy already la!
I didn't need to use any force, just growled at him to move his hands away and it'll be gone magically. There's one big ? across the whole paper with the doomed chop again greeted me. Nearly fainted. But not yet. I check some more and 2 more papers have the similar greeting. Smoke coming out from my nostrils already.
I didn't cane the day before, giving him chance, since it was his actual birthday too. This time, it was unavoidable. 3 canes on his palm and he looked miserably sorry. So, what to do? Though I knew nuts about chinese, I still managed to guide him through. He was pretty impressed, he asked how I knew all those words. Chewah..
The next day, after music class, he told me he wished to change teacher woh.. Straight away, I knew something is not so right, as he never ask such demands before. I investigated further and true enough, he was admonished by the music teacher for not playing well the song teacher told them to practice. Obviously he didn't put much effort in his practices.
So, like what moms would say, a mom would have to do what a mom should do.. lecture and nag la, what else? I lectured a long 15 mins lecture telling him how fortunate he is to have the chance to learn playing the piano, how happy I feel when he plays a song for me, how truly well he can play if he puts his heart into it, how much sacrifices I made to rush every wed to take him to class, how much money I paid for the class, the books, the piano... *slaps face*
Perhaps I am too pushy on him.
Anyway, the BIG surprise is still not here yet. The BIG one came this morning, when I dropped him off at school, he told me, "oh yes, teacher said she wanted to meet you"
I looked at him disbelievingly. He thinks I am an "on-call" mother for his teacher all the time?
I asked "When?" He said "Now". I scolded him for only telling me then, and told him he had to tell teacher he did that and I can't come unprepared, at least I had to dress up decently a bit. Not that I don't wear decently to drive him to school in the morning, ok? Don't ever misunderstand.
Gosh! You think being a student and being asked by the teacher to meet your parent is stressful enough? Actually being a parent and being asked by teacher to meet her is more stressful.
I fidgeted around deciding if I should go to school later to see her or not, honestly, it's really stressful. Sigh, I suppose I should face it like a real MOM like how I told my son to face problems like a real man, right?
Well, the meeting came and gone, it wasn't too dramatic, just a friendly chat on him. Whew! *wipes sweat from forehead*
After this whole week, I hope there's not another bomb coming tomorrow, I learnt I really should be giving him more attention than I had been. Poor thing, he must have trembled and worried so much thinking how to tell me that the teacher wanted to see me. Maybe years later, he will find out I almost fainted out too when I heard that and my heart seemed to be pumping out of me when I was talking to her.
So, I'm not scolding him for trying to hide something from me, I learned my lesson well and want to be a better mom for him. After all, children are children, they surely need to be a little naughty and mischievous to be really called children, aren't they?
What a stressful job this is.

Dressing up ankle
After 1 whole day of limping at work, meeting customer and endless teasing from the colleagues about me punishing him for coming home late that night, he couldn't take it anymore and decided that a visit to the sinseh is unavoidable.
So, the sinseh made him drank one yucky bitter black potion and rub a bit of those strong odor "tit-ta" oil on the "K-ying" swollen leg which looked like a kepala babi. Bandaged it up and went home happy.
The next day it was much better, and he wasn't limping like the day before. In fact, he told me he recovered so fast is mainly he's "sihat dan kuat" in overall *rolled eyes*.
I took my camera along to snap some pictures and when I took it out, the sinseh was surprised and asked "need to take picture??" I said "yeah, very rare to see him in this state, so have to take some pictures la". Little did he know what I have in mind is to blog about this kepala babi.
I teased further that I need the picture to report to my nai-nai about her precious baby in great pain like this and she had better be right here for him. My hubby speechless already. No more comments on this siao-lou-poh. As for the sinseh, he is probably thinking "gila one!"
