Last Sat, I went to my son's school for my very first "Report Card Collection Day". I guess it's more of a significant day for me than for my son. And it's unlike those report cards that nice sweet kindy teachers prepare for the parents, saying everything a parent would be proud to hear about their offsprings.
I was more eager to hear about what the teacher got to say about his behaviour and attitude in class than the marks he gets for his tests. Was really worried that she would start complaining about him being naughty, daydreaming all the time, or what else there are. Where should I start digging hole to put my face when faced with such situation, I wonder.
But it was ok, she said he's quite a nice kid, and he would come up to her to ask her questions about the things he doesn't understand, which not all the rest of the class would do. I guess that's a good sign?
She also mentioned he talks chinese like an angmoh, so that's one part we need to help him improve on. Sigh.. life is getting stressful for me indeed.
Anyway, with his own efforts and very little guidance from me, he reached the position in the "First 15" is good enough from me. Looking back, I think I didn't do as well as him when I was at his age.
Hope he would keep on drowning his teachers with his never ending questions..
